I agree. I don't think much will happen in terms of the courts considering this was a 1st offense. Likely will get probation. Now the league on the other hand that will be different. Not sure how many games he may get.
I doubt he'd get probation for his 1st offense.

You can’t show empathy for someone that makes a mistake?

Sounds like you think libertarian free will is an actual thing, which to be fair, is what the overwhelming amount of people think and it’s demonstrably wrong.

People drink and drive because they think they are fine. They don’t get into a vehicle with the intent to harm others. They get in the vehicle to go to their next destination.

People that are bone weary tired from say, working 3-4 jobs while getting grossly under the needed hours of sleep a human brain needs to function properly, get in cars as well and studies have shown that these people have similar reaction times to an inebriated person. Yet I’m sure you can show empathy for the person tired from hustling for money so they can feed their family.

So just try and do the same for Kazee. He will pay for his mistake and hopefully learn from it. He doesn’t need to be morally flogged by the board Pharisees on top of what he already has coming his way. It’s pointless. Restorative versus retributive justice is so much more efficient.

Empathy and excuses are two different things.

Lmao…

Of course a kid can potentially do all of those things. Being a kid doesn’t mean one is incapable of responsibility. Responsibility exists on a spectrum relative to the capabilities and gifts a person has.

This shouldn’t be hard to understand lol

I just do not understand why you keep calling a 28-year old man a kid.

This was stupid on Kazee part. Now we wait to see if the league hands down any suspension. When players do stupid things like this they not only hurt themselves they let the team down because a suspended player is worthless to the team. Cowboys got something special taking place right now and some guys need to grow the F up.
Likely won’t be anytime soon. They won’t suspend until he is convicted

It's even worse .. every team in the league will pay for a car service for their players to go out.. there is ZERO excuse. Cut him!
Cut him, lol and I can’t believe how many people agreed with you. Unbelievable

Getting a DWI has an impact on your job in the NFL because it's clearly stated in the rules that it's an automatic suspension.

I'm not arguing the rules. You're right. I'm arguing the reason for the rule. It's pointless.

Because he’s still learning how to be an adult. The years between 20-30 are largely spent learning lessons, unfortunately, the hard way. These “adults” are hyped up on high levels of naturally produced testosterone which affects their ability to gauge risk/reward decisions appropriately and in context. It’s not an excuse. It’s just a fact of biology.

This isn’t to say he shouldn’t face consequences. All I’m saying is that the consequences he’s facing are enough. He doesn’t need the “You’re a ishbag!” routine so often lashed out at people who make a mistake.

I just want to make sure I am understanding him correctly................ a 28 year old's brain isn't developed enough to know that he shouldn't get behind a wheel while impaired and that because of that, we should show empathy and support and not criticize Kazee for doing something that could have injured/killed himself or someone else?
I've made mistakes in my past. Ill own them. I was also an addict and needed help. Ive lost countless people to accidents caused by drunk driving. So I completely understand the anger and disdain in this thread.

With that being said. I've also been on the other side receiving a (care and control) which is basically a DUI here in Canada. I wasn't driving my vehicle. I went into my vehicle to grab my iPod and because my key was in the ignition I got absolutely punished. Costed me 10s of thousands between insurance and the breathalyzer in the car. Anyways where I am going with this is. We don't know the full story yet. So lets wait and see how this unfolds.

I was told by a friend in the nfl that they have a free car service available for all players at all times. There's no need to even own a car. Compound stupidity with this guy.

No bro. What I am saying is that I understand. But he needs to be staying on the straight and narrow. But I know and get what he is doing. Facts are is he was arrested. Whether it’s .01 over or not. Maybe the arresting officer is a pats fan. Who knows. It’s bad optics. People around him are telling him what to do. But can’t imagine being 28 and in his position and listening to people.. Lol.

Cowboys free safety Damontae Kazee was arrested early Tuesday morning in a Dallas suburb and charged with driving while under the influence, police said.

Kazee, 28, was pulled over for a traffic violation in The Colony shortly after 3 a.m. on the 7000 block of State Highway 121.

He was questioned and admitted to drinking, then failed a test.
those field sobriety test arte joke they take you 100% of te time its for their report that they had probable cause to take you in.,,ionce he admiited to havig drink or they smelled even a little beer on him..he was going in for SUSPICION of a DUI.

its odd they took me into a back room to draw blood but said they would let me go on my FASLE areest but then they decioded to give me asorbrty test said i failed my eyes wigglesd..3 months later the BAC Blood came back ZEROES 0000000.000000

EXPLAIN

I failed because they said i did!! its part of the process to have probable cause for detainment..

show me his BAC?? where the report???

ONCE AGAIN and arrest is not an admission of guilt....

Not all mistakes are the same. Getting drunk and pissing on your neighbor's lawn or passing out in an alley or getting tossed from a bar isn't quite the same mistake as getting behind the wheel of a car. My getting drunk and pissing on someone else's property doesn't open me to serious injury or death and certainly doesn't open up the possibility I could injure or kill someone else. Not all mistakes are created equal.

Trying to compare someone tired and falling asleep behind the wheel to someone who gets in a car drunk is kind of a stretch.

What overreactions?

He is going to be convicted for DUI and suspended by the league. You think that is unfair?

IS no he IS not yet until HE IS....

got it way overaction with no BAC results no history on his background if its first offense he will plea it don so his court mandated and i doubt hes suspended at all..lets see when and if it happens NEXT YEAR then we can talk,,the man was simply arrested for suspicion of DUI.. too bad you do not understand the process..

the league will take all the facts into consideration and if its first offense and the detail of the arrest etc all vome into play and i say if this in fact is his first one and no other nfl infarctions or history he will NOT be suspended,. and again it wont happen this season and Kazee may not even be Cowboy next year

so again too soon for pitchfork's and torches crowd

OVEREACTION

MOVE ON

our fans here simply after a Kazee arrest with no details or proof yet .
