If he plays better in practice I can go along with this promotion as I always thought it should be open competition for all starting spots on any team.

There have been several posts concerning putting the best 5 o linemen out there with complaints on Biadasz and Williams.

I guess it's a trust thing.

Without being professional o line coaches witnessing everyday strengths and weaknesses combined with game film one opinion is no more accurate than another, at least that is, WE HOPE.

If it gets to the point where things become so blatantly obvious as to risking the QB's health, I would think the staff would do what's best for the team. Even if that includes shuffling or replacing linemen.

Some games it almost appears this way in short spells but overall they seem to be playing pretty well. Especially in improving the run blocking this year.

If it were me I would play my version of Madden oline shuffle and have LC at LG AND McGovern at center.

Then again, I thought Steele was a bust so what do I know.

But that's why Philbin and Moore get paid I guess.

He reminds me of a better version of Jeremy Parnell a few years back. With huge upside. Anyone recall him?I think hes a great comp...same body type.This kid is already better btw and is getting better with each snap. Glad we have Philbin coaching him up.

Steele Highlights vs Chargers. I don’t see Steele getting a lot of help. Steele and Martin are formidable in the run game. They are getting huge push and opening lanes.

Williams isn't great but he isn't terrible. He is an average OG that is better than some in the league. Biadasz is the same way, just a average guy. If they can be upgraded, im all for it but i don't think much change will happen this season. Next season Williams will go somewhere else and McGovern will take the LG spot.

I think hes much more than a swing tackle. The tape says this.The way he throws these guys around like ragdolls reminds me of Erik Williams. Hes fluid , great technique and violent. I am inclined 2 put Collins at LG and then we would have our best 5 there.

Every game I try to focus on Steele as much as I can and I don’t know what other people are not seeing with his play. Zach Martin even said he is playing great. I honestly don’t know how you bench a guy who is playing this good.

Steele also blocked for Mahomes at TCU. I don’t know how Mahomes did not tell the Chiefs to draft him.

You don’t earn the right to be the starter just because you were better than last year when you were garbage.
You don’t earn the right to be the starter just because you filled n for a better player who was injured and you weren’t a disaster.
When he proves he’s a better RT than Collins, then he earns the job. The same is true of Connor Williams. Everyone wants someone else, but don’t you think if the coaches though McGovern was better than Williams that he’d be starting?

He was left on an Island 80% of the snaps against NE. He handled Judon nicely with no help. I rewatched the game. Its time we all re-evaluate this kid. He is showing his tools.

Normally, starters who have been out for a while are re-established as the starter. It'll be up to the staff to decide. I think it'll be La'el.

I'm not so sure. Steele shut out Bosa,Judon and others.Collins needs to earn his roster spot back. I would get him in at LG and tell him play well here, prove your in game shape, and THEN we might see. I would make Connor Williams a utility guy. McGovern might be odd man out. I hate that.
