A stat like the Vikings offense only converting 1 of 13 3rd downs fly right over the head of folks like the OP. They either don't see the correlation or choose to believe "defensive end production" = only sacks.

They rank 28 for the entire season and have ZERO vs teams with winning record.

Sign Cox and watch the DEs produce

I hope people realize the Cox you'd be getting isn't the same Cox that we saw dominate against us 3-4 years ago. He should be feasting with a guy like Hargrave next to him and he's been so-so all year. He's clearly on the downside of his career.

And note, I am arguably one of the biggest complainers about the DT position on this board.

They(?) rank 28th at what for the entire season and zero of what vs the 2 of 8 teams we've played so far? Can you make any less sense?

Zero sacks by Basham & Golston and they are average on run defense.
To be fair, what did you expect - everyone knew before the season that after the starters (D-law and Gregory) there would be a major drop off in talent.

Basham is on his 3rd team since 2017 with a career 8 sacks, Golston is a rookie with no bend - better suited against the run, and Armstrong and Anae aren't even jags yet.

Agree but he’s miles better than what we have right now and he along with return of D Law and Gallimore could make a great DL

Once again the stale pass rusher is a thorn on the side of this team with only Gregory producing a solo sack. Basham and Golston selfish plays and mistakes almost cost this team a win. Why is Quinn not rotating the DEs like he did early on in the season?

Cowboys ranks 28th in sacks and yet to produce even one against a winning team.

you know we are third in the league in Pressures per attempt right? A stat that is almost as important, if not more important than sacks. We held a top 10 passing team to less than 200 yards because of the constant pressure. You folks kill me with this crap. Stats in Football have changed, we should hold a class

If you watched the second half of that game and didn’t feel Randy Gregory was productive…he was Demarcus Ware-like.

There have been at least two intentional grounding penalties, are those included in sacks statistics?

Pressure bursts pipes.

And generates turnovers.

Possible to appreciate Gregory and not crap on rest of team.

Does anyone know when those guys are coming back? DLAW should be getting close.

The teams ranked 1-6 in most sacks have a total record of 26-21

Rams
Vikings
Browns
Panthers
Bears
Bengals

Meanwhile, teams with 10 or more INT's are a combined 33-12

Bills
Saints
Cowboys
Rams
Patriots
Bucs

Which group would you prefer to be in if you could be in one group?

It's not just about the sacks. Pressures matter.

Cousins was harrassed the entire 2nd half. They only got one sack, but Cousins was often off his spot when he got rid of the ball.

Pressures can be just as effective as sacks because QB's are more likely to make mistakes when there is traffic all around you
Pressure causes the QB to get rid of the ball quicker. And that was a big part of the reason why they were so awful, on third down, in the second half.

We are 28th in sacks but we're in the top 10 in turnover differential, and top ten in points allowed. Two important stats to be tops in, and we're not half way through the season yet. So relax kid.
