Cowboys are very deep at corner

Keep in mind neither Brown nor Lewis are free agents any time soon, they have become very good CB2 and CB3. Diggs is a great CB1 and Joseph played meaningful snaps at CB4 in the dime yesterday, even when the game was close in the first half. In the second half, Joseph played like a boss and shut down his man.... a couple PBUs in a row... it was awesome to see.

Nahshon Wright - CB5 but back to back games with big plays on special teams. Obviously last week it went against us, but good hustle nonetheless. He's a great core special teamer with that freak height and speed. Hopefully we can get Mukuamu active and doing the same thing too soon. I believe Mukuamu is a similar athlete to Wright but also a big hitter and can deliver some punishment on ST and eventually play meaningful snaps at SS.

Cowboys don't need to draft a corner high next year.

What we'll need is another edge rusher, a LG/C to replace Williams or Biadasz, and a nose tackle. Maybe an inside linebacker for depth, but Cox will be back by training camp next year. We're pretty deep across the board if we keep our own best free agents (Gallup, Gregory, Kearse, Schultz, and choose between Hooker or Kazee).

The offense will be OK. All they really have to do is find a way to keep Shultz and Wilson. Easy peasy.

The defense is going to get a little bit of a overhaul this off-season. We can get the same results we're getting from DLaw from Dorance Armstrong. So I fully expect DLaw to be elsewhere next year. Re-signing Gregory should be a priority and I think they'll get it done. But there will be a couple of question about our front seven and safeties. This upcoming draft should be a defensive heavy draft. Because MM needs to find long term solutions at some of our defensive positions.

I'm hesitant to say we are deep at corner just yet. Brown has been mostly good this year, but I dont want him as our #1 option. Lewis has been solid, but has shown in the past he will get exposed if he has to do too much. Still need someone to step up before ill say we are deep. Joseph has the potential to do that, but CB is a tough transition to make as a rookie. With a fully healthy unit these CBs are more than capable of getting us where we want to go. If Diggs or even Brown miss a significant amount of time I wouldnt feel very good about things though.

Way too early to to think about it for me, at least in depth. But nice to get opinions as we progress through the season.
Some players may step up, and this will change fans opinions and thoughts as they play these games. Which can be interesting.

Still top of the list for me is an Aaron Donald type DT. But need to see how Gallimore and Hill progress. Not saying they will be Donald, but if productive, the combination can be as effective at times.
DE's, need to wait on this. Will Gregory be resigned, what happens with DLaw, can Armstrong keep improving, as well as the other young DE's. But if a top pass rusher is there, they can't pass.

I think they need another LB, as LVE will be gone, but would not say it is a priority in the 1st few rounds. S, we need one of them also, but will wait to see how things finish out.
I know many want to go OL and LT, LG, C. But this also is a work in progress. Take one if BPA though.

I am not concerned at CB as these other positions.

Need a replacement for Connor and get me a DT.

And idiots on here wanna trade or sign vets who are old and done
Preach. The only time we show signs of being good are when we purge old content turds and go young. I just hope we do not do anything foolish like sign a bunch of old bums this off season and give unreliable older playing big time contrcats.

There’s no way I’m letting the presence of Anthony Brown, Lewis, or even Joseph preclude me from taking a corner high if he’s the highest grades player on the board.

Same thought process when we took CeeDee Lamb in 2020.

I dont EVER want to take a corner high, but they don't ask me.

Is Wright ahead of Joseph on the depth chart?

I know Joseph played in garbage time yesterday but I don't recall seeing Wright.

Then again I was drinking heavily.

I got offensive Tackle as our #1 priority every off-season going forward until we get one or someone emerges.

We’re going to be drafting 32nd so we just need to take the best player available.

That's exactly what I thought after reading the OP's post. We need to start looking for Tyron Smith's replacement. It is critical we have a stud LT protecting Dak's blindside.
Then it's pass rusher (never can have enough of those, and better pash rush, better secondary play), DT and safety. Of course, the best available player strategy, overall, has worked well for the Cowboys, and I'm hoping we continue in that direction. Deviating from that philosophy netted us a flat Taco when our defense could have been electrifying with additional Watts.

Corners played great yesterday, but tough to proclaim this is a deeply talented unit. Diggs is certainly a turnover machine and looks like a superstar with a ridiculously underrated PFF score. Brown and Lewis are solid players, then we have some young guys that have minimal experience. Joseph had 11 defensive snaps yesterday, while Wright had 0. We certainly have players that can play, but feel we're 1 additional pro bowl caliber corner away from making that claim.

Joseph played in the first and second quarter on defense, even on third and fourth down on that critical early Falcons drive where we stopped them on 4th down with Jourdan Lewis making PBU after PBU. Take a look. Cowboys were in dime coverage (not big dime) and Joseph was out there at CB4.
