Personally, I'd love to be one of the highest paid people ever at my job while not even being close to being the best currently doing it, let alone of all time.

Dak was able to sell fools gold to a very rich man. I'm not mad at that. Dak got the better of that deal.

I do too, and it's Jerry's problem to deal with. Jerry agreed to the wage, and he has to make it work. Unless Jerry has a secret account here, I doubt he's on here seeking our suggestions on what to do.

I think we should discuss whatever it pleases us to discuss, w/i the site rules. I find it very strange when someone states that we shouldn't have discussions over something we can't do anything about!!!! That would remove over 95% of the comments on this board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like Dak, and I think he's a great QB. I agree that the deal should be done sooner. Jerry delayed, and Jerry had to pay extra. Jerry only has himself to blame here.

There are those of us that wanted Dak back, but with a done deal a year or two earlier. My point is Dak could of got what he wanted and the contract dollars would be less of an issue at this point. I blame Jerry Jr. for not getting it done earlier, oh and instead he goes and signs Jaylon?

Oh, I get it. I don't mind the discussion. I just think that any anger at Dak about the contract is misdirected. I think anger about the contract should be directed at Jerry. That's the point I was making. I'm not saying don't say anything bad about Dak or what else. I'm just saying the contract blame is on Jerry.

And then Jerry could say then to keep the deal the same or find another team. Instead, Jerry agreed to this deal. Still Jerry's problem imo.

Jerry thinks he is worth that deal. That's what matters when it comes to that contract. I don't get a say in it and neither do any of you, unless you're in the inner circles of the Cowboys organisation. Simple as that. If Jerry didn't think Dak was worth his contract, he wouldn't grant that contract.

I believe there was going to be one minor modification requested by Dak, with regards to not being allowed to be franchised again. Is that right?

I think that was right. I think the only reason he was initially tagged this offseason despite the deal was procedure that cancelled with the contract. I don't think he's able to be tagged again in relation to this contract.

Dak is just as big of a reason for the down slide were currently on as anyone else, so no, I am not satisfied with mediocrity.

Go look at where we are as a team and Dak's stats this year. If the product on the field is all that matters, then anyone who has any clue on how football is played would be happy with Dak's play this year.

I could see that, but I think it's interesting that his deal and Mike's deal look to end the same year. Mike got a 5 year deal as Dak was entering the tag year, and Dak's on a 4 year. Maybe this was a way to pressure both to where the next coach could pick a new QB between Dak or a rookie.
