Oh, I know. But their anger is better directed at Jerry than Dak. The players are always going to want their money. I think a player should get paid for his work as any employee should. I say good on Dak for persuading Jerry to pay him that money.

That means he’s worth the contract. It’s market value for a franchise QB getting paid in 2021. In a couple years it’ll look like a bargain.

Exactly, and the supply of QBs in Dak's caliber is slim, and rookie QBs are extremely high risk compared to what we know we got in Dak. By the time Dak's contract expires, QB deals will likely be about $55-60mil

After observing the contracts of Jaylon, EZ, Crawford, Jarwin, and DLaw, I have little faith in Jerry having the slightest inkling of which player is worth what!!

Even when Dak is no longer one of the highest paid QBs in the NFL he'll still be overpaid because he's just not good enough.

Yes, because the product on the field is all that matters to MOST fans.

The product on the field is horrible right now, so 40 million a year or free, it doesn't matter to MOST fans. We're mad because the team looks lost, leaderless, and broken. If you're a Dallas Cowboys fan then that should be what makes you upset, regardless of whether guys are making 40 million a year or playing for free.

There are those of us that wanted Dak back, but with a done deal a year or two earlier. My point is Dak could of got what he wanted and the contract dollars would be less of an issue at this point. I blame Jerry Jr. for not getting it done earlier, oh and instead he goes and signs Jaylon?

I like Dak, and I think he's a great QB. I agree that the deal should be done sooner. Jerry delayed, and Jerry had to pay extra. Jerry only has himself to blame here.

so the alternate to resign daks was what ?

spend the next 2-3 drafts trying to find a player that takes 3-4 years to get to daks level..we lose a bunch more games until then but hey if we win the draft that all that matters here right? tank get good draft picks become the jags, jets, browns ,panthers, skins, giants, and many other bottom 16 teams still looking for a QB like Dak? there are nt 20 qbs better then dak so 12 teams have very good qbs and we are one of them..

so hes not elite but hes top 10 those are hard to find we saw this show many times..

grow up..this is a team sport and daks not perfect, hes not elite but hes very good and at times great. you should be able to win games when the qb scores 28+ points and at times we fail to do so give up too many points like the bucs game and recently the raiders game..these are not on dak..

IMO hes had two games he was part of the reason we lost Denver but that was team loss really and the KC game that's on him for sure..

so he plays very well more games then not..get over it..plenty of football left to get where we want to go..

That's right, but I think it was Jerry Jr. that did not get it done. There seems to be some bad history of when and when not to sign a player early. Here is an example of how to get ahead. After next year Re-sign Parsons to a long term contract. Why, he will be the building block for the defense for the next 10 years, there is nothing to over think.

Here is an example of what might happen. Jerry Jr. will give out a big contract to Gregory and most likely will pan out for about 1 year, but that is about it. It's better to just let Gregory go and get a comp pick. Let Parsons take over at DE. Wait and see.
