My point was whether you like the move or not, Jerry is why the deal happened. Am I wrong that we have no say in the actions done by Jerry? Is there something you can do that would stop Jerry from signing Dak? No? That's the point of this thread. Nice try.

Exactly, and we don't get a say in the matter. Frankly, I'm happy that we kept Dak. However, if I didn't, complaining about it wouldn't do me any good, would it?

Did I say Dak was elite? I can tell you that he is not average. He is top 10 QB for sure and even played like top 5 for the most of the season. Once you watch other QBs play, you'll understand.
I recommend you spend more time watching football and less posting garbage on the Zone.

Exactly, I have said he's probably top 8 and that's been pretty consistent. Top 8 QBs don't grow on trees. You can't just say trade and draft this chap. Lots of teams have tried that. It hasn't worked for a lot of them. We have Jerry. His best QBs came either because Jimmy got him Aikman or he lucked into them with Romo and Dak. Any other QB he's brought to the team have been crap. I'm not trusting Jerry with a replacement QB.

He’s not a top 8 player right now. He’s a Baker Mayfield right now. He’s not even Derek Carr level let’s be real.

When everything is optimal again maybe our system QB can flourish again.

Ok, maybe not in the last 2 games, but Dak overall this season has been solid. As for Carr, he's a good QB, but I still think Dak is a better QB. It's ok. We disagree, and I'm ok with that.

This is exactly why you dont just take a QB when you need one. Dallas should be looking at spending a 1st or 2nd round pick on a QB next year or the year after. They have to start searching now.

I don't have a problem drafting competition if that's what you're saying. I think competition is always good at every position. Problem is, this draft has crap QBs, and our oline needs some retooling along with our trenches on the defence.

That's same for most QBs. Aikman has never won a game without Emmit. That's why Jerry had to cave in and give what Emmit wanted when he held out. Aikman also didn't look the same without Irvin. Why do you think we gave up two first round picks to get Joey Galloway? You think Jerry would have done that if Aikman could make any scrub WR look good.

Romo didn't look the same in 2011-2013 as he did in 2007 and 2014 when he had a better OLine, WRs and a running game.

You’re right. Most QBs are not elite and Dak is only elite when he is playing in a system that can provide enough that even Cooper Rush can throw for 300 yards and 2 TDs in.

But over the years we have found out that Dak is just not a put the team on my back and go win type of player.

As I said most QBs aren't the same without their top two receivers.

You’re right. The average players like Dak will struggle. The Derek Carr’s can still make things happen amongst total chaos.

I’ll tell you what though. When the team can put Dak on their shoulders he’s a heck of a QB.
