We are fanatics, but to players and coaches....it's a job. We have many different members here and most of us have jobs that we are paid to do and judged on our performance...we compete against other companies and coworkers....same for these guys....many of us live vicariously through them and some of us go a bit to far with hate, homerism, whatever.....just like a pee wee league parent ripping a 5 year for missing a block.
I was pissed off on Thursday, many players and coaches to blame....at the end of the day, my griping or my defending players and coaches don't make a difference, and it doesn'tmake me feel better....

That said, the difference in fans is what makes this place fun and frustrating as well.

At the pro level it's a job playing a game. At the end of the day...win or lose...makes no difference to the world in general.

At the level you coached at there is a lot of good that comes from playing the game/participating in any sport really. Kids learn a lot about life.

Perspective.

Go Cowboys!

I need the Cowboys to win. My wife won't love me if the Cowboys lose. My kids disown me when the Cowboys lose. My job fires me when the Cowboys lose. Cops don't protect me and thugs beat me up when the Cowboys lose.

Wait... hold up... The Cowboys winning or losing doesn't affect my personal life at all. My BAD.

It’s a job for them. But for months out of the year it means more for me than it does them. And they get paid millions to play a game I love to watch. I know they want to win. And they also want good stats because it reflects there future paycheck. I expect more than they do. I am a fanatic. Love my team. Been hooked since I am 7. Used to kick and scream in the floor when they were losing to the steelers in the 70’s in the Super Bowls. Rode high in the 90’s when I was a young adult. And now yell and scream at the TV like a 50 year should.

I envy you. I only feel that way after I know the season is done. I am pretty sure they can hear me when I scream at the TV.,

I watched the Thanksgiving game with my mother, at her house. Not only did I get aggravated with the team and the officiating, but my 82 year old mother was pissed off and had her heart pounding too. The biggest problem was she didn't really know what she was pissed about, and I had to explain it to her while I was fuming about it.

Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to have to explain to someone why they're pissed off?

It might be a job to them, but it's more of a passion for us. But you're right, beeching and moaning about the players or coaches isn't going to change anything. It is pretty entertaining getting Rockport stirred up, though. He comes across like he's waaaaaayy too sensitive and takes everything that's said far too serious.
Rock is a big teddybear....

It’s the length of the ineptitude. 25 plus years. This organization was a model at one time. Now is it a circus. It’s frustrating but the older I get the less I care. Thursday I found myself laughing at all the penalties.

This team is making the playoffs though. That I am sure of. The division stinks.

Agreed. There was a point in time some years before the salary cap where the NFL was also a passion for players as a game as well as a job. It's not that anymore to coaches or players for the most part at the NFL level it's merely a job but you can very clearly see the few players that do actually care about the sport and winning they tend to lead their teams to division championships or superbowls. High School and College are the peak-epitome of football as a pure sport IMO. Player bonds and life lessons learned at the High School level can last a lifetime.

Two reasons why i like when Dallas wins

theyre my team

and trolls go away

seriously, nfl fans are 75% cowboy trolls who live for Dallas losing but cant tell you whos on the team
Send a letter to the NFL and request that we play dog teams with numerous injuries at home weekly.
Happy Pappy?????:muttley:
