Is there any question Dallas needs to keep Gallup?

I would absolutely keep all 3 and restructure other deals. Keep Gregory, Kearse, Hooker, Schultz... everyone else is cheap or expendable.

None. We need to get coop to restructure, but we have 3 exceptional young wrs, something that's hard to get and they need to figure out a way to keep all of them.

It hurts me to the core to say this, but if it comes down to it.... Zeke has to go....
When a player insists on a huge salary, that is the flipside. They are much more likely to be let go.

I like Gallup and would love to keep him but we are rich at that position. I have seen him make extraordinary plays and botch the ordinary. i think Cedrick gives you about the same and he isn't going to cost near as much. and as much as folks like to hate on coop he is the best WR we got and it isn't even that close. we just wont be able to afford Gallup which is a shame. not sure what the draft will bring next year but the first 2 choices better be LB and OL. followed closely by Anthony browns replacement. Then we can grab a WR

I cant remember if Wilson is a FA next year or not i thought we signed him

You can always afford any player you really want. Stop the nonsense! If Jerry Jones wants he can have with creative use of the salary cap. I for one want Gallup, he catches are electric.
No, you really can’t. We’ve got numerous key FAs this off-season. There no way we’ll be able to resign them all. You can only manipulate the cap so much without it killing your short term future.

Between Gallop and Wilson.....
I think Gallop is a better choice.
Wilson is good, too.

Dead level best to try and keep him.

I guess some of you who are so emphatic he is gone, and lecturing me on this either ignored the meaning of this comment or have comprehension issues.

I fully understand the issues and he will cost a great deal. But there are contracts that can be reworked, turning salary into signing bonus. Dallas also has five games left to see if Tank Lawrence is going to be a difference maker, or is he going to "Tank," which was why I thought they gave him that nickname.

My point was simple. Figure it out if you can. But I was also heralding this guy, who just three weeks ago was an expendable to what appeared to be a majority of fans posting here.

As a side note, the thread is about Gallup, and it turns into Dak. I swear I believe there are truly a great deal of people who have no understanding of the team concept.

How do the bucs and rams do it? Yes, we can do it. And I agree, zeke is i trying out for ne to years team. I love the guy, but it is what it is.

The Rams have gone all in and it’s not working. Their cap situation is terrible going forward and they do not have any early round draft picks for the next couple of years. They’re going to pay dearly for how they’ve built their roster. The Bucs will end up losing players as well. It helps that some of their best players (Brady, Gronk, etc.) are taking less money than they could get. Both of those teams are going to be in big trouble in a couple of years.

But you worry about q couple of years in a couple of years. This is a win now league. Gallup is not just another wr. Just look at two of his catches yesterday. He's a stud, we have him , and we need to keep him.

This is the only time Gallup has gotten injured in his 4 years with the Cowboys.

You are stretching badly if you want to compare Gallup to Cooper when it comes to which one is a healthier WR.

Here's the thing. The offense typically struggles bad with Cooper out. They more often did fine with Cooper in and Gallup out. Cooper is simply better. That being said, his contact is a lot. Ideally I'd kill to keep Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup. It doesn't look likely so hard choices have to be made.

Is Lamb ready to take a number one role? Gallup isn't a number one. He's a good number two. That's not a slight on him. Before Lamb when Cooper was out Gallup was asked to fulfill the number one roll and didn't do great. It all hinges on Lamb. If Lamb is ready, they can get rid of Cooper and save a lot of salary cap. If he's not, it's a mistake to get rid of Cooper because he makes the jobs of the other receivers so much easier. You can see it in the coverages. Defenses fear Cooper far more which opens up holes for other receivers.

That's assuming they don't try to restructure Dak and Cooper and keep Gallup and Cooper both while trying to keep some of the free agents. They need to draft for the O-line, so receiver is probably a late round option if at all.

Gallup is probably going to another team and is going to get number one money. He's not a number one, but he'll get paid like one. Why would Dallas want to pay him that kind of money?

I’d definitely like to keep him, but I see no way to pay him, Lamb, and Cooper. You just can’t put that much money in that one position. Schultz and Gregory are both FAs as well as numerous others. You just can’t keep everyone. It’s not possible.

I still say yes, I’m fact last two games reinforces that we don’t pay him IMO. Gallup doesn’t get open much, he’s amazing at contested catches but unlike Amari and Ceedee who often make catches wide open because they ditched their coverage, Gallup stays covered.
Sure I’d love to keep him, but he will never be a #1 and he will never be a #2 here.
Since we have to make decisions, I keep Amari, keep Randy Gregory, Kearse

Zeke and Lawrence don't help you by getting rid of them this offseason. I wish it did.

Lawrence played well last night though.

Zeke is really not that expensive but you have to use him right to get the value from his contract.

My issue with Gallup is while he can make great acrobatic catches, he can be shutdown by a good corner. It seems like there are number of plays where a DB is draped all over him and he can't separate. Dak has issues with wideouts who can't create seperation.
I love Gallup but the offense was running on all cylinders without him. Doubt we can even keep Cedric so someone else needs to step up and Noah needs to go.

I would not pay for Shultz either.

My Draft would be LB,TE,WR in the first 3 if it fit the talent. Then get another LB or 2 later. Malik Turner is a better receiver than Brown and he plays special teams as well.

If only they had Kevin Costner running their organization.

We’re stuck with Zeke until at least the end of next season, his dead money is astronomically high.. no chance he goes anywhere this season or next.
