I hope Kellan Moore watched NE run outside vs Buffalo!

Our offensive line isn't good enough to be able to rely on them like the Patriots did tonight. I don’t know what happened since September, but if the cowboys run it 43 times on Sunday, they’ll probably gain 86 total yards (unless Pollard breaks a big one). The line is borderline bad.

Ditto here.
I saw a whole lot more effective upfront pave the way blocking in Pats OL than we get in our OL.

And Bills run defense continues to be a team weakness so that even adds to that Pats element.

I'm still trying to process how much the failing is the OL vs the coaching scheme, .. i've seen Pollard run a great deal better in Columbo's run game
and that 2019 OL ,so i know how much is it the RB personnel.

What happened is we have no creativity or surprise. We run up the gut over and over then complain our run game ain't working.

The way we run the ball is definitely part of it but I think you may also be overrating our offensive line in comparison to New England's.
We avg 4.7 ypc and NE avgs 4.2 ypc. The problem is that our OC doesn't stick with the run at all. They need to get back to having balance like they did early in the season. We should be able to run to the right side behind Martin/Collins. Tyron is still playing at a high level. Our LG an C is where are problems are.

Some of the best run games to ever exist weren’t pave the way types. It was zone blocking. RB reading his blocks and cutting down hill.

Not everyone can do what the 90s Cowboys did because it’s nearly impossible to get that kind of talent.

This Cowboys team can run it. They’ve proven that already. We got a coordinator problem and a possible problem with the QB checking out of runs.

Moore should look at Colts use of the outside zone and stretch and how they progress to the multiple looks they give defenses. The big difference between outside zone and stretch is the aiming point and track of the offensive line and running back. In outside zone this is typically off-tackle. In a stretch scheme, the aiming point is the force defender outside – usually an outside linebacker or strong safety. The basic concepts are the same though. The 49ers run it a ton with Raheem Mostert as do the Raiders with Josh Jacobs. The Colts offensive line is impressively athletic and fast though and can really reach and seal on stretch looks to the outside.

Well, that's a given. We're the softest organization in the NFL.
Ill never forget when Garrett had them practicing inside when it was raining out and we were heading to New England for a game we knew was going to be a monsoon lol

No one can run like that 90s team. I havent seen an OL like that since then. IF we had a Larry Allen next to Tyron we could literally just run behind them all game. lol

And people wonder how this team only has 3 Wild Card wins in the past quarter of a century.

You can blame the QB, the D, the freaking waterboy if you want. The problem is and has been since Jimmy. The culture. The 2 guys in the suite every game.

They couldn't see it because our WRs were covering the o-line's warts.

As other posters have stated our current o-line is not cohesive enough to execute stretch run plays. There is something with this line, and with some of the team.

I have some suspicions based on some media stuff, but I am loathe to even think about it. Some thing is wrong with this team right now, and they should be rolling over the competition.
Well, don't leave us hangin'...

Our first game in October was against the Panthers, where we murdered the Panthers front. Zeke and Pollard combined for over 200 yards, at 7 YPC and 6 YPC respectively. Zeke even had a 47 yarder.

Then we played the Giants and murdered them again netting over 180 yards on the ground.

The Patriots played us decently, though we still had respectable numbers against that defense.

The Vikings was respectable again.

Denver, which starter the trend of losses, we basically threw ourselves out of the game by the first half. You can’t blame the run game, because the second series that got us to the Denver 20 had 4 rushes, one of them a scramble by Dak, meaning 3 designed rushes and one of them was a 5 yards rush up the MIDDLE by Zeke and an 8 yards by TP up the MIDDLE. The next series Zeke rushed for 11 yards up the middle and 8 yards up the middle. Pollard runs outside for 2 and they decide to throw on 3rd and 1 and it’s incomplete.

And so on…

The point being, it’s simply not true that it’s because we don’t ‘run outside’ or our run blocking sucks or has sucked since September.

And again, we facing 8 in the box constantly, the only game that seemed different were the Chargers who play heavy zone and the Saints as well. The latter though have a really good run defense, unlike the Chargers. The Saints basically didn’t need to bring another man in the box it seems to stop the run.
So then what, in your estimation, is broken? Because I think you’d still agree that the run game isn’t nearly as productive as it had been earlier in the season. It’s not only because Zeke is hurting.

I think the run blocking is worse with McCovern and the coaches need to design better running plays, then the players need to execute the blocking schemes.
Also, I would like to see Collins moved to LG and Steele starting at RT.
