I love Dak Prescott. There are better QBs in the NFL, but I wouldn’t trade him for any of them. Irrational, but that’s me.

Most of the recent Dak posts are ridiculous. Many stupidly say this is what they always knew he was. Many others want to blame any and everything for his recent struggles. Anyone who knows squat about football and listens to those who do knows Dak has had stretches where he has been elite, and yes, the MVP roll he was on early in the year was legit. Those who claim otherwise don’t deserve the respect of your response to their silly, ignorant agenda driven posts.

That said, anyone who knows anything about football and listens to those who do knows Dak is currently in a funk. He’s having a bad run where he’s making bad decisions, rushing the plays, not staying composed with his mechanics. It happens to all QBs. He has three weeks to start finding his stride and improving his play. It is unlikely that he will suddenly turn around and play at the elite level he was at early this season, but he must improve.

It’s not the OL or the lack of a run game; It’s not the receivers or the play-calling. We have all seen Dak play extremely well with and without a run game, behind a crappy OL, with backup receivers, with plenty of drops, and with head scratching play calls. When it’s obvious he’s playing well, it’s easy to then pinpoint the OL not giving time for plays to develop or drives ending because of penalties or dropped passes or insane play calls. Dak needs to slow it down, see what he sees pre-snap, but also adjust to what he sees post-snap, step up in the pocket, slide in the pocket to buy time, keep his feet under him and have good mechanics. The answer cannot always be get rid of the ball quickly.

We’ve seen him play his game many times, but right now he is NOT playing well. Winning or losing and success in the playoffs is not on hm alone. But if he continues to play poorly, he definitely shoulders a huge, disproportionate share of the blame, as he should.

But if you want to discuss with silly, emotional, irrational comments about him being a poor QB, that he’s always been a poor QB, don’t expect a response from me. If you want to discuss why he’s currently playing at a poor QB level, bring it because that is certainly fair.

I don’t know if Dak will pull out of it or not, nor to what degree he will right the ship, but at 9-4 and the playoffs on the horizon, I’m certainly hopeful that he will get back to 75% of what he was to start the season to make the playoffs a fun experience.

I think expecting him to get back to 75% is reasonable. Clinching this division is key. Lock that down, and maybe we can let Dak get a week's rest against the Eagles. We're not going a 1st round bye, so the incentive should be to clinch as soon as possible to essentially create our own bye week essentially. This can help Dak rest a bit and get healthy, which seems to be lacking.

I hope whatever is bothering Dak gets fixed soon!
We have hitched our wagon to him for better or worse .
As Dak goes, so go the Cowboys and I want playoff Success !

I do too. That's why I think the sooner we lock up what we can lock up, the sooner we can get Dak some rest. Not two weeks rest, but I'd let him miss the Eagles game so he can rest. Use it as a bye week and let him get ready to do the postseason.

Unless he’s nursing an injury, I think he needs every snap he can get. Haha

Dak is brain fuke up. The locker room is getting divided because of a another real star...on defense.

Dak is losing his thunder...he is fragile...some other star came...it hurts poor, poor, Dak. Lot's of other players paying attention to someone else, instead of him.

I think he is nursing an injury. Look at his game prior to the leg injury and since. I think he came back too quickly. Leg injuries can take a while to heal. I don't think Dak will say that he's hurt that's not how he is. That said, he looks injured to me.

I think the problem is Dak came back too quickly. I don't think he needed to play the Broncos game. I appreciate his toughness, but I think taking the extra week would be smarter. This would allow his leg to heal a bit more. Look at his footwork prior to the injury. It was pretty much perfect with a QB. Now since the leg injury, his footwork isn't as good, which is why his passes don't possess the zip as prior to the injury. I know he's not going to admit to being injured, but it's quite telling to me.

Thank you, Chuck 54. I was assigned the list to keep of members that had not started a Dak thread and you were the last on the list and now I can check that off.

Please feel free to start a "Jones must hire a GM" thread as there are only 3 of you left on that list.

I think @Furboy point has merit.

Exactly. Think about it, the comparisons between his legwork now and prior to the injury is quite telling. The QB must set his feet properly and use his legs to put the ball where it needs to go. Dak was doing that early on. Trouble is, since his injury, he's not had that same technique. I think he's nursing something there.

He is nursing something alright . He lost his heart . Just look at the halfassed attempt he made at a tackle after he threw that late INT. 2016-17-18 Dak makes that tackle .

Great post. It's not like he is in a funk all game though. For example watch the saints game even he ripped a ball to Lamb, beautiful throw.

Not sure what the issue is with him but i believe Moore should start the game with uptempo no huddle and get him settled into the game right away so he isn't over thinking. He looks much better and decisive when the offense is in a 2 minute type situation.

I disagree with one thing. He has never played well behind a bad offensive line unless we were playing a crap team that couldn't get pressure.

What I saw in the WFT game was a qb that has PTSD from all the hits and near hits he was getting when we were missing our starters. Even with a clean pocket, he would rush throws and make mistakes that a poised qb doesn't make. Hope he exorcises his ghosts and gets his composure back.
