If the Cowboys and TB both finish the season at 13-4, TB has the head-to-head tiebreaker so we are going to need the Panthers to win one of those two games against TB.

nope. either Arizona or the Packers also ending at 13-4 makes head to head go out the window. You can use the espn playoff machine to verify what I’m saying is true

How do you determine number 1

we have a better conference and divisional record than every other contender in the nfc. If we all end up at 13-4 the cowboys get the #1 seed over everyone. You can use ESPN Playoff Machine to play around with scenarios and they list the tiebreaker order up there as well

If that's the case, yes but I have the Packer and Arizona losing in week 16 so they finish at 12-5. Dallas and TB finish at 13-4. I actually like your scenario better with the 3 or 4 way tie at 13-4 which then the Cowboys get the tiebreaker and the 1 seed.

yessir I love my scenario and I view it as actually plausible and not a pipe dream. Saints definitely can take the Bucs as they are 3-0 against them in the regular season the last 2 years. And Ravens or browns just need 1 of the them to catch Green Bay slipping. From there the cowboys win out and #1 seed is ours

I agree, totally plausible.

We blew our chance at the number one seed when we lost to Denver and the Raiders. We’re just lucky one of those losses didn’t cost us a playoff spot. However we still need another win.
Denver was a beat down , but Raiders was the real one which we should have pulled in, stupid special team gaffe in OT , backed us up and we couldn’t get out of there . Also defensively that was a bad game .

that’s not true at all about us blowing our chance at #1 seed Kjj. The Bucs and Packers have 0 room for error. If either of them lose even 1 more game then the cowboys winning out will catapult us to #1 or #2 seed

We gave up 36 points to the Raiders. They haven’t won a game since.

They would have to lose one more game and we would have to win out which means we have 0 room for error.

It's the end of the season, but its like people are talking about us having a lot of time to turn things around.. Ideally you want to be going into the playoffs hot, rolling over teams. I mean I hope so too but at this point you watch games for the cowboys to prove themselves and not go with homerism.
Did you watch any of the other NFC games? GB got all they could handle against the Bears and were a bad call on a muffed point from being down late. TB got up big and were a couple of bad calls away from losing. The Cards lost but the other top teams all worked out wins without playing their best same as Dallas.

If more than one team is 13-4 the head to head matchup goes out of the window. We have the best conference record so we have the tiebreaker as long as multiple teams are 13-4.

We must win out obviously to get the 1 but yes the AZ game will be a good test.

The least likely thing is Tampa losing another game. But regardless we are in good position for the 2 seed as long as we can beat AZ.
I don’t know why people think Tampa can’t lose another game. They could be playing four dumpster diving teams and still lose one. This is the NFL. It’s a week to week league.

In fact, statistically speaking, there is a pretty good chance they will lose one.

That’s a big if. With two injured running backs and Tyron out of the lineup it’s going to be tough getting back on track. If we don’t get the offense rolling again and Dak doesn’t come out of the rut he’s in, it’s likely going to be a one and done regardless where we’re seeded.
Then why watch? If you don't believe, why waste your time watching or posting? Just call it a season and don't show up until next summer. Sheesh.

We can beat anyone in Dallas if healthy. So we need to be IN Dallas and 100% healthy.

I just want to see the team finish the regular season playing better on O and as healthy as we can be.

Whatever that gives us seed wise, then fine. Clearly the 1 seed with a bye and home field would be best case but we got to play the best teams at some point and I feel the current D and early season O can be a problem for anyone, home or away.

Green Bay will lose one of their AFC north games vs Baltimore or Cleveland. Tamps has a cake schedule so I don’t think they’ll lose one but if they do we control our destiny for the 1 seed.

1 seed is very much in play but 2 seed is extremely likely if we win out. It’s hard to go 15-2 my man, not sure why we are upset about being 9-4. Especially when many here didn’t even think this would be a 10 win team.

I'll continue to remind 2 of 4 losses (at least 1) were not because the Cowboys actually lost the game. The game was almost shamelessly given to their opponent by the same officiating crew.
