What's next for Kelvin Joseph?

Yes, he was defending against a poor team but he played excellent and that's exactly what good corners do against bad teams. They shut them down.

But what's the plan with him now?

Revert back to CB 4 and special teams?

I mean Lewis has been playing excellent in the slot so he needs to get his job back.

Does he take over for Anthony Brown now?

Can Quinn and MM really leave him off the field after Sunday night's performance?
Work him in more with more playing time.
Let him compete for a starting role next camp.

You play the better player that's what you do, and if you believe KJ is the better player then there's your answer.

I think that's mostly the case, but there's a trust factor there too. If Brown and Lewis have the coaching staffs trust and believe they're better prepared then that probably is the player that gets the nod.

Bossman Fat turns into the Big Bossman and Wrs get beat down like Al Snow

Diggs isn't coming off the field much so if he is paired with Diggs I would like to see him match up with Kirk and put Diggs on Green.

I think he merits more playing time. He is a gunner on special teams. Physical tackler and he punches like an OT on the press. His size is decent but he looks extremely athletic running, cutting, and turning. We are not seeing blown assignments.

I think he is going to be very good if he stays healthy and he keeps on this trajectory. He is much more physical than Diggs which is what you need. Diggs is a bonafide star but he runs behind piles and isn't as diligent in pursuit as he could be. You cannot stack that on a defense.

He can run, turn, and cut fastest amongst our corners. He's shown recovery speed and he is not as susceptible to comebacks and inside cuts like our bigger "prototype" corners. Brown gets smoked on those most.

I think they all deserve to play. This draft keeps coming along.

He's a rookie,,, he'll get spot duty unless a need arises. He's not better than anyone out there right now.

He’s too good in coverage to sit. I think Quinn sees that in practice. That’s why he wanted to work him in where he sees his near future and why moved Brown to the slot.

That one game was a test and he got an A. We will see more I believe.

I expect him to be backup to Brown for now, but will win the starting job next season opposite Diggs. With Brown the backup. You can never have enough good DBs in this day and age of the pass.

Cover two. Four down lineman seven backs ,
Actually that’s exactly what it is

No, Cover-2 is a coverage formation.

4 DL and 7 DBs is a personnel grouping.

Personnel Groupings based on number of DBs:
4 Base
5 Nickel
6 Dime
7 Double-Dime

Cover-2 is most often implemented with Nickel personnel, but it's not personnel dependent.
Nickel
4 DL
2 LBs
5 DBs (Big Nickel if the extra DB is a Safety instead of a CB)

Young CBs often play outside with a veteran moving to slot coverage.

They did it in the years when Scandrick was a starter.
- He played outside in base and moved to slot coverage in Nickel with a young CB coming in on the outside.

I would like to see him given the chance to start outside opposite Diggs this week. Brown had a great game playing inside. Let him and the returning Jourdan Lewis fight it out there.

But I don’t have my hopes up and expect Brown to be handed his old job back.
