I dont need you to buy it lol. Moss over Rice is a shock value take. I dont think there is a criteria that could place Moss over Rice

Emmitt was great. Top 5 all time. His three best career attributes we the championship runs that he fueled, and that fact that he was a pro bowl caliber for so long. The latter being why he is the all time leader in rushing.

Brown is the goat because of how dominant he was in his era. He had a the body and production of a player from the 1990's in the late 50' early 60's. If he wanted to play longer, Smith might be the #2 all time leading rusher right now

So Rice is the best because numbers but we do mental gymnastics to say someone like Jim Brown is better than Emmitt? Ok…

Emmitt and Jerry are the same player at different positions.

Bob Lilly

And we shut down the opponent's run game, and may the gods have mercy on their quarterbacks.
Lilly only if all the opponents Olineman were also transported in time. Todays 320lbs guards would push lilly backwards on every play.

For me, Deion Sanders. Him on one side and Diggs on the other?

If not Deion, E. Smith. Total warrior stud all around back that can do everything.

You know who Simpson played for, right?
Simpson WAS the Buffalo Bills.
Two, Simpson played his early career in a 14-game schedule.
Three, Peterson benefits in durability because of better medical technology. His ACL injury would have rendered him all but done in OJ's day.
Be that as it may, OJ was a blend of power, speed and agility - more so than Peterson, in my opinion.

Dude, seriously? You think I didn't know who Simpson played for? And that he played under John Rauch and was miserable until Rauch was fired and replaced by Lou Saban? And had Dennis Shaw as his first QB, and finished with Joe Ferguson? And, was traded to the 49ers as a shell of his former self where he played his last season under Bill Walsh?

Thanks for educating me.

It's not like Peterson played for juggernaut Viking teams either. Aside from their two years with Favre (and Favre wasn't good his second year there), Peterson played with absolute garbage at the QB position - Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte, Christian Ponder, Matt Cassel, Teddy Bridgewater. Peterson played more games, was more durable than Simpson and was ultimately more productive over a longer period of time. OJ Simpson was an electric football player. Adrian Peterson was better.

No need to get sensitive. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence. It was a figure of speech more than anything.

Be that as it may, this is really beyond the scope of this thread, and I'm tired of the back-and-forth snipping. I'll simply say let's agree to disagree and move on.

I'm trying to avoid the endless Dak debates, though I might just be fooling myself. So, you can't pick Staubach, Aikman or any other Cowboys quarterback. Aside from that, which past Cowboy player and his position would you team with this offense or defense.

Me? It's a tie between Charles Haley, Erik Williams, Larry Allen and Emmitt Smith.

I gotta go Emmitt Smith. His durability, reliability and productivity at the running back position would make us a better balanced team and even more dangerous offensively. I'm okay with the pass rush, and although I'd take an upgrade on the offensive line, I think we can get by with the line we have, provided Tyron Smith returns.
However, the lack of a running game concerns me. And I believe we'll have to lean more on that in the playoffs.

But that's my take. What's yours?
LA or Eric Williams and we could run the ball at will every play. On D Ken Norton JR in place of #55.

This is a no brainer!

Larry Allen all day every day. The O line goes from our biggest ? to our biggest strength.

On defense, Neon Deion!!

We see this argument often. Bob Lilly or Randy White or Mean Joe Greene couldn’t play today.

For one, if they played today, Lilly would bulk up and play at 280, not 260. White played at 265-270. Greene at 275. Those two would easily be 285 today.

Isn’t Donald 6’1” 280? He’s the best in the past 30 years but do you think he’s stronger than White, who benched 450 lb at 10 reps? Or Lilly who lifted the front end of a car onto the curb by himself? White and Greene were so quick in shooting the guard-center gap, and Lilly was quicker than the both of them.

Lilly was legendary. He’d be fine in 2021.

My choice - since Staubach isn’t allowed - on offense would be Larry Allen. Erik Williams is tempting but the gap between LA and Connor Williams is like the Grand Canyon while the EW-Collins gap is a four lane highway.

On D, I would like a DT that could disrupt like Donald. So give me Lilly or the Manster— either and I’m happy.

But since we’re allowed only one choice I’ll take Allen. The run game in the playoffs would be hard to stop by anyone.
