Bob Sturm Stats: Zeke vs. Pollard on First Down

Combo of Elliott being banged up, Elliott already in decline as a player, his lack of explosiveness and really his limitations as an in between the tackle runner at this point........... multiple times in recent games, you can just see DEs crashing down because there is little threat of Elliott going outside. Dallas doesn't even try to run him on sweeps and tosses like they used to.

Also with Pollard in the game, teams likely see him more as a pass threat so they can't just focus on the run.

At this point, it's pretty clear what a mistake it was to resign Elliott and frankly, his ineffectiveness is an issue over the last half of the season that has hurt the O.
When you line up in S11 personnel and just run Elliott at a gap you show that you really don't care for the running game. Fans just don't get it. The ONLY player that is being featured right now in this offense is Prescott (not Elliott, Pollard or Cooper). And he isn't up to the task. So look at the evolution of the thing...from an offense that featured Elliott and rushing to an offense that doesn't run the ball and features only Prescott (as his passing attempts have increased almost every year since 2016).

So many are so quick to want to run Elliott out of town on a rail. Just like Dez Bryant a few years ago. Same crap. Kellen Moore is a BIG part of the current offensive malaise and morass. It's blatantly obvious that the running game has become an afterthought and I'm wondering now if Prescott hasn't been told that a check down pass is as good as a run play.

Last 7 games:

Zeke: 3.2 ypc
TP: 5.4

Zeke is killing us.
"ypc"?

I think it's a mistake to just look at that stat and say that.

I won't go into it yet again (fore like the 100th time)....it needs a little more parsing.

That;s what I am talking about. We run that ONE play 3 times in a row and claim "Zeke is killing us with his 2.5 ypr".

Oh you mean the guy he sidestepped at the handoff and a wall of Oline and d-line had nothing to do with it?

And winning be damned in the process. Jerry is immensely talented in marketing but a football idiot. Thus Zeke gets more carries
claiming just zeke is the problem and ridiculing Jerry's football knowledge....priceless.

Attack/Blame Zeke Again Day
These guys would be calling out haters if it were Dak. Zeke? Fair game. "Just LOOK at that 2.7 stats will you...WILL YA? Zeke killing us.
I ain't saying we have 2016 zeke here. I'm saying try to open up the data set some, sheeh.
Team game. Look at the big picture.

This theme is more recurring that Andy Griffith reruns.

I'd like to see a vid of every zeke block...the guy has taken a beating for Dak.

Not claiming Zeke is the problem, but rather the guy making the final decisions on who plays is NOT putting us in the best position to win in the playoffs by pretending like Zeke is playing like it was 2016. And clearly, Pollard is the better back. We can agree to disagree.

Indeed. We shall disagree and hope for the best!

I need to see Pollard truly "carry the load"...be a featured back for some length of time before I'm convinced. Not just make it up in my head. Especially given the total condition of our offense.
I'm not saying he can;t or he's a bad RB.

Give Dak 3 seconds and then watch...

Understood. We just need to put our best foot forward in the playoffs which for me includes using Pollard more than Zeke and turning the play calling duties over to Big Mac and let Moore take a back seat.

For what it's worth, I'm shocked Moore is being interviewed for a head coaching job when his only resume is offensive innovation against bad teams with bad QBs. Moore must have compromising phots of all 32 owners because I've never seen a more unmerited meteoric rise to coaching fame than Moore.
