Matt Farniok.....
The Farniok brothers are following in the footsteps of their father, Brad, who suited up at St. Cloud State. Matt's older brothers, Derek (Oklahoma) and Tom (Iowa State) played football in the Big 12. His younger brother, Will, joined him in Lincoln a couple of years ago. Matt was a Parade All-American and South Dakota's Gatorade Player of the Year in 2015. As a redshirt freshman two years later, he started four of seven contests played, two at right guard and two at right tackle. He was the team's Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2019 after starting all 12 games at right tackle for the second straight season. Matt was named honorable mention All-Big Ten by league coaches in 2020, starting all eight games -- one at center and seven at right guard.
He was our 7th round pick,,, try and keep up ....
When RBs start pushing and turning 3rd and 5's 6's 7's into first downs,, OLs get fired up!!!Other then Zack this OL is really playing below average. When Smith is in there he just isn’t very good any longer. Our center is below average and light guard is trash. Collins hasn’t been good in two years. Even before his injury last year, he didn’t look good in the preseason and his first game of the season.
I believe Philpin is a good OL coach but I could be wrong, or is the players just not good?

Matt Farniok when interviewed before this past 2021 Draft:
“I just wanted to get more of a lean body, get a stronger back, get a stronger core,” Farniok said. “Those are two really emphasized parts of my workout.”
I've been preaching for Matt Farniok, especially as our Center, since Preseason and throughout this whole season...over and over and over. I truly believe this Oline could perform much better if Farniok was starting, instead of Biadasz.
Take a look at his athleticism before the 2021 Draft. I bet he can outrun all of our current Olinemen. His mobility stands out a lot and gives one the thought of how much better his athleticism could truly improve our whole Oline from the Center position.
Matt Farniok is a strong, quick, aggressive and athletic Center. Much more than Biadasz. Biadasz is too sluggish, too slow and not so athletic, hence why our weakest area of our Oline all season has been right square in the middle.
Here. Take a quick look at Matt Farniok's performance last night. Too bad it's only a few plays shown due to highlights. Everyone should rewatch the game and pay attention to the whole 4th quarter when Farniok was making the right calls, snapped the ball very well, constantly fired out while staying low and trucked defensive opponents over and over and over.
Farniok played very well at Center this past Preseason, especially when he started and played the whole game against the Jaguars starters. That's when he started showing signs that he can play Center at the pro level. Here is the game. Worth watching...
To finish it off, truly enjoyed the phone call Matt Farniok had with Jerry Jones and Coach McCarthy. Them Nebraska linemen can play! Matt Farniok needs to start...
It should never be personalMaybe not to you or me, but we don’t play…
that's really good high praise you gave him. i am guilty of not really paying attention to farniok. i recorded the game maybe when i have time to rewatch the game this offseason i pay better attention to him.He reminds me of Kevin Gogan.
what position did he play? g or C? looks promising next year with Ball and this guy maybe others.Saw him pancake the DT and was blocking two at a time downfield on another play, looks like a beast, don't care what string you are playing against. Who's with me ?
We might disagree about Zeke. But Clement is so fun to watch. I like that guy!I didnt care about the score or the feel good stats, I wanted to see who was running behind Zeke and now know that Clement is serviceable and Ito has been moved up from PS, also Farniok our 7th rounder looks to possibly be a promising addition to this OL.
he might be next years Steele.I watched Farniok in the pre-season games and thought the same thing. He has potential. In the pre-season games it was obvious he needed work if they are planning to use him at center. He was slow getting off the snap and getting his feet set. But last night he looked much improved. The snap was clean and he was up and on his blocks quick enough. I did not see a lot of shotgun snaps though. I think it is too soon to tell if he is ready, but I said last night and I will stick with it, Farniok is going to be the Cowboys starting Center at some point in 2022. Biadasz looks like a backup.
he had little extra for his old team. it happensWe might disagree about Zeke. But Clement is so fun to watch. I like that guy!
We need a top 5 player at OC and have to upgrade at OG in this off season if we are going to compete for a SB
Dak gets the yips when pressured and needs a clean pocket and a good run game
I don’t think the people we have now are the answer
What??I'm actually wondering if it isn't the coach that's the problem. You never see Philbin around.....
Bro, Farniok #68 played at Center throughout the 4th quarter last night vs the Eagles.what position did he play? g or C? looks promising next year with Ball and this guy maybe others.
