But the Giants do OWN the draft this year if solid picks are made...which is always a crap shoot regardless of team drafting. So The Giants may be formidable in short order IF the house gets right.

I know, I know...if a frog had wings...

Go Cowboys!
The Giants are a horrible drafting team. Guarantee they will reach for a linebacker that has any sort of comparison to Micah with their first pick. Guaranteed!

Also, they’re riding this Daniel Jones guy. They haven’t realized he’s garbage. They severely over paid for Golladay and others to give him targets, but he’s still done nothing since being drafted. Hopefully they keep him.

Actually the goal of the draft is to generally get balance across your offense and defense and put resources on your defense.

There was a point in time when we had first-round players at nearly every position on offense (and yes I'm going to count La'El Collins, because being gifted him should have meant even more resources on defense).

HB - Ezekiel Elliott
LT - Tyron Smith
RG - Zack Martin
C - Travis Frederick
RT - La'el Collins (for free)
WR - Dez Bryant

Hell, they spent a 2nd round draft pick on Gavin Escobar when Witten was our starting tight end. And this is after they couldn't get anything out of Martellus Bennett (who went on to win a super bowl ring)

You are 100%wrong. Yes who reach have bad drafts. For every Escobar there's also a Romo. Drafting isn't an exact science, if you knew who'd be a Hof player every time you picked you'd be perfect but nobody is. Great drafters miss, it's part of the job. You draft for the best players. If you have a few players about the same grade then you go by need or whatever but it's best player on your board then needs. Hell our best picks fell into our lap. We didn't intend to draft Zach Martin, fredbeard, Micah they were the best left on the board at the time. Remember when they made fun of Dallas for drafting those OL that early? They said fredbeard could have been taken later, Martin too.

This always seems to be the defense of garrett. That other people are horrible too.

Do you think its easy for any OC to come in in the middle of the season after and change it mid stride from the horror of a Jason Garrett system? While losing your QB and starting receivers for most your tenure?

Why even defend Garrett? Which is what you are doing.
Facts are just tough aren’t they?
You hate Garrett which is your right
I just stated the fact that their offense got worse after he left
You let your hate of someone effect your judgement of facts
I wanted Garrett gone long before he was and he certainly wasn’t great with the giants
But that doesn’t change the fact that they got worse after he left. You see that ad a defense of Garrett rather than the reality, which is just how bad the giants offensive staff really is

I have a friend that played at Auburn with Jay Ratliff. He was always talking with Ratliff and even got set up with great seats at home game once courtesy of Ratliff. Anyway, according to my friend Ratliff said him and the defensive guys couldn't stand Garrett. They felt that Garrett helped sabotage Wade Phillips and got him fired midseason. Ratliff said it was funny how Garrett went from pass happy as an OC to run heavy as soon as he got tagged interim HC.
Ratliff, there's an upstanding take the money and run kind of guy. Integrity is the first thing I think of when I hear his name.

The offensive players said he broke out a new playbook and they were like where did these plays come from and how come we hadn't been using them.
Um, maybe because when he became the coach he could do what he wanted? Just a thought.

I mean if you told me in September that the week before our first playoff game some would want to talk about how good Garrett was, I’d say you were pulling my leg.

But alas, never underestimate this place.

Well their offense really took off after firing Garrett. Our offense was a top 10 offense through most of Garretts career here as an OC and then as HC while Linehan called plays and including the 1 year Moore called plays for Garrett. Maybe it's me but there is a distinction from how Linehan ran the offense vs when Moore took over while Garrett was still the HC.
Remember when Moore struggled in games and everyone said Garrett was calling the plays. But when Moore had a good game it was his offensive genious. People see things to suit their own feelings. Garrett failed, so did Parcells, cup cake Phillips, Gailey and Campo.

I think he'll likely be back in the league at position coach, maybe QB. In fact, don't be at all suprise if Quinn get another shot, hires him on his staff. They are good friends from Saban's Dolphins staff.

I’m not sure you’ve got a good grasp on how good I think he was, but he does have a fairly detailed resume at this point. I never oversold his abilities. I also don’t believe the team got much better after he left. McCarthy actually did a worse job as HC than Garrett had in 2020. This year I think he’s as good or maybe even a little better than Garrett was in the years Garrett had a contender. Largely because he has to get credit for finding the right DC, but he’s also done a good job of being aggressive and of managing the spotlight the Cowboys have on them when they’re good. We’ll see how far it takes them. This is the best roster we’ve had since probably 2007. We should expect to be competing for a NFCCG in a stacked NFC.
Your wasting your time. Peoples hatred of anything Garrett is comical. He failed to advance as a coach. Check

I give him credit for what he did with QBs. Dak and Romo both.

LOL, you were wrong and blind about Garrett . Others of us saw through him pretty early

He’s utter garbage

When we fired him we were told that other teams would be lining up to hire him LOL. Has he been born had an interview for HC let alone been hired

Stop this back handed way of trying to justify how bad he was
He was a TOTAL snake who fooled tens of thousands!!!

Dont be sorry. I was most-definitely one of his biggest defenders. I didn’t support everything he did, but I made a point of tackling almost every irrational criticism I came across because so many of them were childish and silly. Like the thread you linked to criticizing him for Moore’s success when he made a good hire in what was an unpopular move when he first put Moore on the coaching staff.

But you took the time to at least cite some threads, which I appreciate. So, given hindsight, what we’re your issues with the arguments in either of those threads? I’ll play along.

The same argument against what you're saying now that he has a decent resume... he literally doesn't. 2 playoff wins in 10 years is not a decent resume. He squandered multiple multi time pro bowlers and hall of famers. The players all say it.
