Hes obviously not going to get a HC interview the off-season after being fired from an OC gig. That’s not realistic. If he’s still looking to work, it’s either as a college HC with a mid-tier program or as an OC for a young new defensive coach once the pro jobs start filling.

That said, that Giants offense didn’t score more than 10 points in 6 of the 7 games they played since he was fired. He wasn’t the issue in NY, just like he wasn’t the issue in Dallas. NY’s issue is both talent—especially at QB—and they have a guy who’s in over his head at HC who’s losing his team. They’re a mess.
You and Garrett’s mom are the only 2 people in the world that do not think Garret was the issue in Dallas.

Your wasting your time. Peoples hatred of anything Garrett is comical. He failed to advance as a coach. Check

I give him credit for what he did with QBs. Dak and Romo both.

I know you’re right. **sigh.**.

It’s just so damn stupid.

And I’m so damn stubborn.

Garrett was literally the worst , wasted incredible teams year after year with terrible in game management . I’d rather have no head coach than have Garett

Garrett is 58th all time, in terms of winning percentage as a HC in the league, according to this list. Between Chuck Knox and Mike Ditka. Some pretty good coaches right above and right below him. 55th in terms of total wins. Out of 511 candidates.

But, I mean, who’s really considering wins as a measure of coaching ability? You are what you’re record says you aren’t. That’s the saying, right?

Am I the only one hearing the clown music?

I was just looking for a sensible post to reply to with a little bit of relevant context. Not looking to drag you in necessarily.

Not surprisingly, until your reply here, it was completely ignored.

I know many of you hate him. The rest of us admired him as an OC but could see, eventually, that he had taken the team as far as he could and needed to be replaced.

However, I laugh at the NY Giants. Judge firing Garrett and since sounding like a spoiled child with the media, anything to deflect from the horrible job he has done over two seasons. Did that offense improve or even tread water without Garrett? He was getting all there was, not much, out of that crappy offense with no OL and a turnover machine at QB. Who’s to blame for how absolutely atrocious they were without Garrett, who was also coaching without Daniel Jones?

Watching how poorly the Eagles have drafted and the total mess top to bottom in Washington, who would have thought the Giants would be so far from competing with anyone in the NFC East and entire NFL this quickly? And the crazy thing is they are still trending down because nothing from coaching to OL to QB to WR to TE shows any sign of improving.

As one who hates the Eagles and WFT much more than the Giants, I only wish it was them.

Garrett was nowhere close to a great coordinator. He had a plan for building this offense to be able to win through execution and Dallas did a decent job of putting those players in place. However, the offense was always handcuffed by his lack of creativity. Garrett wanted to win like the 1990s Cowboys, where teams knew what play was coming but couldn't stop it. That plan rarely works in today's NFL because free agency/salary cap makes it difficult to put all the pieces in place without any weak links.

I'm still a believer that Garrett can win as a walk-around head coach as long as he has the right coordinators, but I'm probably wrong in that belief. I absolutely don't believe he ever needs to be a coordinator again or force coordinators to adhere to his system.

I was trolling the Giants YT channels today on some of the live chats etc...Funny you mentioned Garrett. Apparently Mara still LOVES Garrett and has a meeting with him Friday. I kid u not. Its really funny how this guy gets all the love without being any good at his job., I think Judge gets fired before Friday. Garrett is the guy the Mara family wanted 2 retain all along, instead of Judge. This is great Theatre.

It would be funny if he was able to sabotage a second head coach and take his place. I don't know if Garrett really sabotaged Phillips, but there are certain things about that year that make it look that way.

LOL, you were wrong and blind about Garrett . Others of us saw through him pretty early

He’s utter garbage

When we fired him we were told that other teams would be lining up to hire him LOL. Has he been born had an interview for HC let alone been hired

Stop this back handed way of trying to justify how bad he was
Wade Phillips got robbed, I wish he had a better OC.

Don't tell us, tell NFL GMs. They apparently agree with the rest of the world. When you're the only one on the ledge it's not us, it's you. After next year when he has no HC gig I can't wait to see the excuse. First year "b b but they fired him too late so there were no openings"-A lie.
This year "obviously he won't get hired after being fired as OC". lol ok

Next year what will the excuse be? It will be comical either way

Another sad Cowboys fan sticking up for the horrid Garrett. You were dead wrong about Garrett, get over it already.

Garrett was a worse OC than he was a HC. The guy had no business running an offense or coaching a football team.

Garrett is right where he needs to be.........out of football.
Garrett was exactly what is record says he was, an average NFL coach that had moments of above average (2016) and moments below average (2015). Records are why scores are kept and they’re the ultimate determination of the job done. The same goes for QBs.

The offense under Garrett with the Giants was horrible....idk how it got worse after him but it got so bad i was shocked they didnt get shutout every game after Garrett was dismissed

I think the Cowboys are set up to win the division for the next 3 years hopefully that happens
Maybe, just maybe, he got the most out of what was there. There’s only so much perfume you can put on a pig.

Who admired him as an OC? lol. His best year was 2007 when Tony Sporano did the game planning for him. He was a horrible OC in NY too. I laughed the day they hired him and could not have been happier.........for the Cowboys.

The same argument against what you're saying now that he has a decent resume... he literally doesn't. 2 playoff wins in 10 years is not a decent resume. He squandered multiple multi time pro bowlers and hall of famers. The players all say it.
Lol I wish hostile was still on this board, him and idgit, the two bigger supporters. I think hostile ended up making his own message board, I wonder how he reacted to the next Time Landry getting fired, lol

I doubt that later statement will come to fruition. But most fans don’t look at things objectively. They rationalize what is into something that fits or supports their beliefs.
