Is Micah Parsons the best rookie in Cowboys history?

The best part of this whole thread is that it isn't ridiculous to include Parsons in this conversation. Amazing, amazing player!

How can you lol at that though? That’s not far off at all. It was the best season by a rookie QB in NFL history by the numbers and as voted on by just about every talking head

The OL and Zeke were the reason for the season.

You have to break the Pom Poms out if you can’t see that. Dak’s most likely out of the league if he starts his career in an environment that doesn’t have that supporting cast.

Zeke and Micah Parsons were our best rookies.

I’ll go Zeke over Parsons simply because we got the 1 seed with a 4th round rookie QB.

TOP IMPACTFUL ROOKIES

#1, Prophet Micah; heaven sent, no argument about the first position here
#2, Everson Walls, 1981, 11 INT's,
3. Tony Dorsett, impact player, took Boys to the next level and a Super Bowl victory
4. Zeke, best rookie RB output in team history; his 83 yard screen play TD against the Steelers, one of top 5 plays of all time
5. Emmit, he boosted the Boys to the next level
6. Zach Martin, instant Pro Bowl
7. T FRED, instant Pro Bowl
8. Terrence Newman, 4 INT's, gave respect to porous secondary
9. LVE, his 1st year was magical, 140 tackles
10. T SMITH, one year at RT showed us he would be stud at LT
Like seriously, how can you leave Dak off your list? This is a troll job

lolll

I can't remember a cowboy defensive rookie making this kind of an impact. I got Everson Walls with 11 INTs as a rookie but that was a great team. Mel renfro had a great rookie year on another great team. Parsons came to the worst defense in cowboy history and has made more of a difference than any of them.

This is a great question. In terms of the early guys, Bob Hayes deserves a shoutout.
In 1965 rookie Hayes played in 13 games, caught 46 passes for 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns. His twelve tds led the league. This was back when the league played 14 games and defenses could brutalize receivers (IF they could catch him!)

He also returned 17 kicks for 450 yards and 12 punts for 153 yards.

I don't think that you can really compare players from different eras who played different positions, but I can't think of a more impactful rookie in the modern age than Micah.

He also may be the greatest rookie in terms of what his attitude brings to the country club atmosphere that's poisoned this team for 26 years.
I completely forgot about Bullet Bob. He not only impacted the team, he impacted the entire NFL. Thank him for zone defenses! Over 1000 yds on 43 catches with a dozen TD's in his 1965 rookie year...just about the time Dallas started becoming a perennial contender. He has to be at or near the top.

:hammer:

Since I’ve been a fan from the start of the Dorset era I can not think of a rookie that has impacted Dallas more positively as a rookie…

and the fact that so many analyst compared him to LT says a lot…

Retardation ^^^

Dorsett rookie impact was significant. Early on he and Landry did not agree on how to run the ball. They went back and forth and eventually Tony convinced Tom to let him run the ball the way he sees the holes develop. Having said that, for me, Parsons, is likely the best I have seen. Dude is truly incredible. He truly is game changer. Other teams will be looking for and developing players to play at multiple positions like he does. Schemes on offense and defense will change because of the players like this.

You have to understand who you are talking to. This is the same guy that thinks Dak is an average bus driver that doesnt affect winning. He is also the guy that say Beatherd and Kaya were going to be better QB's that Mahomes in the pros.

Then to top it off he hated the Parsons pick stating that he was a 1 dimensional linebacker that doesnt affect the passing game. And he just stated not 5 minutes ago that if he could do the draft over again he wouldnt take Parsons. LOL

You cant make this stuff up. True story!!!

Parsons had a great rookie season. Dak was very good his rookie year, and Zeke looked like he was all world. TD added a special element to the Cowboy offense. I don't think any of them impacted the team and league like Bob Hayes. In an era where receivers were mugged and passing was far from easy, he was probably the most feared player in the NFL.

Maybe on a Cowboys forum but off of it people would just say that’s common sense.

There is no debate whatsoever. You are 100% the most wrong way, no nothing poster this site has EVER seen. I have NEVER seen anyone put their foot in their mouth more than you. And you keep doing it. Hilarious!!

Everson Walls got his 11 interceptions his rookie season, he was undrafted out of Grambling. If memory serves, he was the only rookie to ever break 10 interceptions in the Superbowl era. That would have to rank up there with Parsons.

He went to a great team competing for super bowls. Parsons came to the worst defense in cowboy history. That counts more.

Oh I know it’s his schtick I just like calling his crap out

Ah, so I’m wrong and Zeke and the OL weren’t the reason for Dak’s success? Lol you guys are funny.

You can call it out all you want. I’m right and you’re wrong. Only Cowboys fan would agree with you.

Zeke getting suspended the following season and Tyron Smith getting hurt the next season and we all saw what Dak really was.
