As far as Zeke and the Oline being the reason for Dak's success, thats a huge stretch.

Zeke and the Oline were terrible last year before Dak got hurt and he was leading the #1 offense in NFL history at the tune of 375 yards per game passing.

Did we just witness the greatest rookie season in the history of the Dallas Cowboys? I can't think of one better over the last 40 years.

This needs to be adjusted for era obviously. Don't give me raw stats as the reason. It's a much different game today than it was then. I'm asking who was the best in their time not who put up the best overall numbers.

I need people who were around for the 60s and 70s to speak on this.

Is Micah the rookie King?

Zack Martin made 1st Team All-Pro as a rookie.
- Guards can't impact the game in the same way as a roving multi-tool LB but Martin was basically the best at his position the minute he stepped on the field.

Larry Allen didn't start until game 6 but by the end of the season he was the best in the league at his position.

This is a great question. In terms of the early guys, Bob Hayes deserves a shoutout.
In 1965 rookie Hayes played in 13 games, caught 46 passes for 1,003 yards and 12 touchdowns. His twelve tds led the league. This was back when the league played 14 games and defenses could brutalize receivers (IF they could catch him!)

He also returned 17 kicks for 450 yards and 12 punts for 153 yards.

I don't think that you can really compare players from different eras who played different positions, but I can't think of a more impactful rookie in the modern age than Micah.

He also may be the greatest rookie in terms of what his attitude brings to the country club atmosphere that's poisoned this team for 26 years.

This is the first person that popped in my head.

Zeke getting suspended the following season and Tyron Smith getting hurt the next season and we all saw what Dak really was.

Put him, Martin, Ware, Zeke and Dak in a jar and pick one, whoever it is I'm good with it. Off the top of my head, Martin was all-pro as a rookie, Zeke broke the Cowboys rookie rushing record and Dak had the best year by any of our rookie QBs. Since were hear in the now, I would take Parsons. I don't know if it was him or Quinn who turned this D around, either way we are a lot better with him.

Tony Dorsett had an amazing rookie season too. But that was a championship team before he got there, he just added to that great team.

Ware was not nearly as dominant his rookie year.

You have to break the Pom Poms out if you can’t see that. Dak’s most likely out of the league if he starts his career in an environment that doesn’t have that supporting cast.

Zeke and Micah Parsons were our best rookies.

Dak haters here say it was Zeke who made Dak look good. He's production is on the decline while Prescott's is on the way up, so I'm good with your call.

13-3, 68% completion, 23 TD and only 4 Int.

Yeah but Romo would have gone 11-5 with 23 TD’s and 8 interceptions while breaking his back so he’s better.

It's not that you're wrong....2016 Dak isnt half the qb if you put him in Cleveland that year. With that said though are we winning 13 games with Mark Sanchez at QB? Kellen Moore(Dont remember if he was on the roster yet or not)? Dak had a huge impact....he was a bus driver most games that year, but made plays when needed. Thats all the Cowboys needed for most games.

The issue is more so you want to diminish any good that Dak brought or currently brings to the table. I'm not sure he was the central reason the Cowboys were successful that year, but he kinda saved the season after the Romo injury.

I can see the Dak/Zeke conundrum both ways. Zeke did win the rushing title.. but Dak had what I believe was the best rookie season a QB ever had statistically.. and given that QB is far more difficult position to play it would be easy to declare that the more impactful season because it's the more impactful position. Dak was plenty good that year.. but Zeke was probably more dominant.. The truth is they probably fed off one another..

Moore was supposed to be Romo's backup that year but ruptured his achilles in camp which paved the way for Dak to start. And no.. we're not winning 13 games with either him or Sanchez at QB..

Dorsett had a really good rookie season rushing for over 1000 yards in 14 games with 12 TDs and another TD receiving. That was in a era where rookies didn't often play.

But I'd have to say Parsons edges him out simply because I think Parsons has had a greater impact on the Cowboys defense.
