This is really for the long time fans. I can only speak about mid 80's on.

Did we just witness the greatest rookie season in the history of the Dallas Cowboys? I can't think of one better over the last 40 years.

This needs to be adjusted for era obviously. Don't give me raw stats as the reason. It's a much different game today than it was then. I'm asking who was the best in their time not who put up the best overall numbers.

I need people who were around for the 60s and 70s to speak on this.

I gotta give the nod to Micah on top rookie in history…. Mainly for his versatility. He has played multiple positions and handled all his assignments with incredible skill and intelligence.

Can’t think of another rookie that has been asked to do more from day 1… and has had his kind of impact.

No disrespect to other names mentioned on this thread either— we have been blessed with some amazing rookie sensations over the years.

I don't hate Parsons, he has definitely earned his star. OROY is what I meant to say Dak won his rookie year. Thank you for correcting me. Parsons has not yet won DROY but no doubt he will get it.

I don’t believe this to be correct, I think it was 12 games in 1965. Anyway Bob Hayes as to be considered in the top 5. Is IMPACT was not just to the Cowboys, but to the entire league as he is credited to having the Zone defense created.

Hayes played in 13 of those games.

So why was Micah so good? All world DL? Great coach? Since you love giving credit to everyone else when you blatantly miss on players projections at the draft. He was also a GREAT rookie QB. As evidenced by the records he broke, but hey. It was everyone else but him.

Dak got thrown to the wolves as a 4th round rookie and led the team to a 13-3 record. Zeke was a huge part of that. However. Dak not cracking under the pressure of playing on the biggest stage in football helped this team a lot as well. Him not throwing a pick for 160 plus pass attempts and protecting the football was huge as well. One thing about Dak that we have seen countless rookie QBs lack is mental fortitude. But I guess that was someone else too.
