I mean if you told me in September that the week before our first playoff game some would want to talk about how good Garrett was, I’d say you were pulling my leg.

But alas, never underestimate this place.

Not only will they tell you how good Garrett was they’ll also tell you how unhappy they are with McCarthy!

It’s not like he turned around the Cowboys offense. He got a group that was dam good in 2006 and they were still dam good in 2007. But 08, 09, 10.. all Wades fault. lol Garrett s play calling in the Minnesota playoff game was as bad as it gets. Couldn’t look any more inept that day!

Romo running for his life , no playcalling adjustment whatsoever .

is this the time the Vikings had those heavy Williams brothers in DT position ?

Romo carried Garrett for his entire tenure. If he didn’t audible out of terrible play calls or make something out of nothing, the offense was inept and the team lost.

Anyone not sure about that can look at the pathetic record the Cowboys had whenever Romo missed time.

Facts.

@Idgit will either deny he never said that or make excuses why nobody picked his garbage butt up after 2019. I always got time to trash Garrett

I’d actually say “find the link to the quote and then we’ll talk.” And then nobody would, because if they did it would be an actual discussion and not an imaginary one. And I would end up being reasonable and convincing again and that takes effort to ignore.

I don’t actually remember what I said at the time. I probably said NFL teams would definitely have interest in him as either a HC or an OC and that he might draw interest at the college level.

I’m smart enough to not be definitive about an NFL HC job when there are so few and there’s so much negative fan sentiment that would come with a JG hire.

Can you imagine what the clowns would do if I were dumb enough to go way out on a limb like that for no reason? If they could all get out of their little car and find and share a link to an actual quote? They’d still be stomping around and squirting water from the flower in their lapel like you’re doing here. Just maybe not squirting it in their own face.

Anyway, find a link and let’s talk.

I watched some of the WFT NYG game this past weekend. NYG ran a sneak from their own two yard line to give the punter a few more yards. Moose was flabbergasted by how incompetent their offense was. He mentioned it often. I’m not a Garett fan but I do believe the issues were deeper than him.

You're not worth me digging through posts from last year. I'll just stick to knowing deep down you know what you said but won't stand on it like a man

Exactly. You have no evidence, so just do what feels right to you. We knew that would be the reply. Afterall, you’ve got that important “making balloon animals” class to prepare for.

Romo spent a lot of years running for his life. And there were never any adjustments!

I’m not sure who the Vikings had a DT?

Why is Garrett not sniffing HC jobs for the 3rd year in a row as a good coach? Answer that like a man if it's possible

Where’s your manly list of “jobs Jason Garrett has sniffed the last three years”? Do I even want to guess?

You love playing dumb. Why has he never been a serious candidate for any vacant job in 2020 and now 2021?

Garrett was literally the worst , wasted incredible teams year after year with terrible in game management . I’d rather have no head coach than have Garett
The time he didn't use any time outs to try to get closer than a 58 yard field goal was one of his "best". The field goal was of course missed as time ran out and Dallas lost. I recall he said after the game that the kicker had made them from that range in pregame so he didn't want to risk trying to get closer and have a turnover. To me that clearly showed that he was in the wrong line of work, but I believe he the head coach another 8 years after that.

Don't tell us, tell NFL GMs. They apparently agree with the rest of the world. When you're the only one on the ledge it's not us, it's you. After next year when he has no HC gig I can't wait to see the excuse. First year "b b but they fired him too late so there were no openings"-A lie.
This year "obviously he won't get hired after being fired as OC". lol ok

Next year what will the excuse be? It will be comical either way
I will say there are too many openings for Garrett to not get a head coaching gig. No matter how much he sucks as a coach or how horribly wrong idgit was about him.

The fact that he still won't get a HC job or be a real candidate is my point.

I’m just saying there are six openings and not much out there. I can see an NFL team hiring him. Not many former head coaches with a plus .500 record sitting around.

He’s still an awful head coach.

Idgit still was trounced badly.

Jason Garrett was much better suited as a talent evaluator. That has been his strength. No wonder since his father was an NFL scout for 30 years and his brother was the Cowboys talent evaluator for veteran free agents.

Anybody who hates Jason Garrett lacks respect for former Cowboys players that participated in the franchise's success.

Jason Garrett played well for the Cowboys when called upon to do so. That should be enough to wish him the best. If he didn't succeed as a coach in Dallas it wasn't because he didn't try. I'm pretty sure that having an amateur, part time GM for a boss had a lot to do with it. We'll never really know just how much Jason had to put up with.

I could see Jason Garrett as a very capable GM in the future for some team.
