The matchups going into this game were a concern. Their strengths exposed our weaknesses.

Reasonable Answer. To me past history, when you use a measuring stick game like the Cardinals, you get a feeling on if you can even compete in the Playoffs. 2014, 2016, and 2007 felt differently. :( I guess post Jimmy 2014 is still our best season.

This team was absolutely atrocious against good teams in the second half of the season. All the homers here could say was “but the Chargers…but the Patriots” when in fact we’re probably lucky we caught those teams earlier in the year. They were today what they were the entire second half of the season, paper tigers.

We had warning signs from several games this year against top defenses.

Both of those teams would have hammered us recently, we were not a good team especially on the O side.

It’s a similar story. We roll against lesser teams and struggle against top defenses.

We were 11-0 when we ran for 100 yards or more. The recipe to beat us hasnt changed. Not all teams can execute it.

Us realistic fans knew that was it. That game told us everything we needed to know. This game was very similar and we just aren’t at that same level.

Nah for me, it was the Raiders loss. I came on this board that night and said this season was done in a thread I made. Writing on the wall this team did not have it. Oh but then we reeled off 4 wins in a row against junk teams and people thought all was right. then literally the same thing happened against the Cardinals. This team was exposed a long time ago and people wanted to bury their head in the sand and ignore it.

Yeah, I had my doubts after the Denver and LV losses but the way Arizona manhandled us left me with little hope we would go anywhere in the playoffs

Good point. I was pissed after that Raiders game too but missing Lamb and Cooper that game gave me a glimmer. That cardinals game was the door slam.

Yep the Cardinals game could have made this team legit and erased the earlier slump. But it was the same old story. And that Cardinals game was pretty much a playoff preview. Both teams were playoff teams and that was the atmosphere. And in true Dallas fashion, they play like crap for 80% of the game and lose. Like today.

I posted repeatedly after we lost to the Cardinals that the Cowboys have one and done written all over them. That was another measuring stick game that we lost.
