Screw the refs, I'm glad someone said something. Worst refs in pro sports. I know they're part time, but do they also get paid by the call? They can pull a rabbit out of the hat sometimes. Remember that blindside block call during pass blocking? I forgot what game that was.

The refs are human. I'll give you that..

But other teams also get the raw end of the stick sometimes.

As jimmy johnson said "those things even out at the end of the year" and he also said "why would you give a ref the power to decide a game?"

Loser mentality.

Lol i think you need to rewatch that whole press conference again. He changed his tune as soon as he realized the fans were angry at the refs and not the cowboys players lol

Thinking the fans were upset at the players-

"Its sad.. Were grown men who give it our all to the sport"

After realizing the trash was aimed at the refs-

"Credit to them then, credit to our fans"

Yeah.. Good luck getting roughing the passer calls now smart guy.
Yes that is exactly what he said. I like Dak but that was just dumb to say. I know that he is frustrated but usually he says the right things especially after a loss. I think he just needs to come out and say that he is not condoning violence against the refs and it will be forgotten in a week. He might not have meant what he said but people and the media perceived it.

Yeah and adults should be able to answer very basic questions from a reporter.
Timing is everything. In a perfect world should he have answered differently? YES. But he didnt. Let it go...jeesh its not state of the union. Hes not going anywhere despite the virtue others seem to imply he lacks. Ridiculous.

The dislike for refs here is pathetic. Like refs are just out to intentionally hurt our team, it's conspiracy nonsense. That game was good by the refs, Prescott made mistakes as did Jimmy G at the line. Why the hell does EITHER fan bases think they should get away with it? Be better prepared.

I've always said Dak is a complete moron off the field.

Sounds like my father who told me and my brother and sister when we played sports do not rely on the ref to decide the outcome of the game. If you do, your not that good to win.

If you watch the press conference, the thing that was most disappointing to me wasn't condoning throwing things at the refs (which was bad enough), it was that he showed himself to be a coward. He was getting the slightest bit of pressure about having played poorly, and instead of owning up to it, he saw a way to deflect the blame somewhere else when the reporter asked about the treatment of the refs. It showed a real lack of integrity, class and balls.

That's all it was really..

When things started heating up, he wanted fans to feel sorry for him and have sympathy going on a rant about how he worked so hard and all that..
But as soon as he realized the fans scapegoated the refs, he rolled with it lol

Look i understand. I do. But that's just life sometimes.

You also have to remember i dont get paid 40M to be the face of a multi billion dollar company and you also have to remember Dak has PORTRAYED an image for his entire career and this goes against that image.

Being a "good guy" was one of Daks claim to fame.

And being a good guy is part of the perception a lot of people have. Again, does that disappear when all the evidence except one moment at one low point indicates you really are a good guy?

But again, I agree it's a bad look that doesn't fit the image. But that's just perception, and not necessarily reality.

I'm sure you might think that applies to a positive perception as well, and I agree with that. The media takes what it can and runs with it. But my point is 6 years of the media finding nothing to report on his character other than doing and saying the right things doesn't get overridden by one moment at a low point in his career. At least not if people are willing to be fair minded.

And remember, the dedication and hard work to come back from that terrible injury, and persevering through his brother's death, and the countless coaches and teammates that consistently talk about his character aren't just perceptions. That's tangible stuff.

Apparently there are important groups within the NFL that aren't moving on and I imagine Goodell will respond to this as well.

Very simple. When Dak gave approval to the mob after their violence, it was reminiscent of the chants I described. He ,in essence, gave power back to the people.

he kept it real, maintained, and gave back to the community in just that one comment condoning the mob violence
So.... an event that happened a half-century ago (September 1971) that had nothing to do with sports in general or a football game in particular- spurred you to compare the two?
By the way 'shabazz ' - a few dozen people throwing stuff of nearly 94,000 in attendance doesn't equate to 'mob violence' IMO.

It would have been better for Dak not to have said what he said, but since he did, he should have gotten ahead of the situation and immediately released a statement apologizing for what he said and emphasis that fans throwing things on the fields at the Refs isn't an acceptable form of behavior.

Words are powerful, some talk, some bullchit walks away. He will talk his way out of this and the Cowboys will get back to the same thing we have had for the last 6 years...and more to come.

I don't condone what he said but the Dak bashers who complained about his canned answers are now complaining about Dak being real.
Bunch of clowns.

Well, it's too late for PR now.

He meant what he said and he is getting criticized as he should for it.

Exactly. It was one of those moments which isn't really a huge deal in and of itself, but you can see who a person really is. And in this case that person showed himself to be a coward.
