I'd do Dak, two 1sts and a 3rd for a bonafide top 7 QB like the Rams did for Stafford. If that's the farm then take my overalls and call me a city slicker.

That’s fair. But Stafford still needed a stacked team around him to do anything of relevance. Elite QBs are very rarely traded or released. Stafford is not elite. What I have a problem with is trading the farm looking for this elite QB in the draft. You could waste years landing Baker Mayfields and be in no better of a situation than we are now.

The truth is that it all starts at the top. You must have a GM with a vision, a plan on exactly how he is going to build a winning team. You must have a group of executives bought into the plan, executives that are experienced, innovative and dedicated to one thing only and that is winning Super Bowls.

The Cowboys have the Clampetts, rich but niave when it comes to the NFL.

Dak was constantly put in third and here comes the rush situations due to ANOTHER PENALTY, no way I blame Dak for this loss.

Dak is behind...

Rodgers
Brady
Mahomes
Wilson
Allen
Stafford

Do see Burrow and Herbert being more successful. So there he is around 9ish when it comes to QB's. We need .....well hell....smarter players. 14 penalties. OUCH!

McCarthy is no Jimmy or Landry either.
Dak is dumb as a rock.

The only brain trust we have even near the top is Will McClay, without him we wouldnt even be winning division games in the sorry NFC East.
Everyone above Will is just good at signing checks.

This isn't a true statement. the Bengals average about 100 yards less passing in games they win vs games they lose. That is statistical proof that they don't win through the air.

Additionally, your statement is very telling. " sure, they are gonna let their backs keep it balanced" The QB doesn't decide to run on pass. The coaches do. The Bengals clearly made a decision after the Jets loss that they were going to run the ball.

You don't have to pass for more yards in order to win the game thru the air. The efficiency with which you do it & the fact that it was his throws that break the defense. The Bengals didn't run wild against the Raiders but they were efficient in both the run & pass. Go ask a Raider defender would they rather face a running play or Burrow throwing? 100% they like their chances better against the ground game. They had no answer for he & Chase.

In our current day and age, the Truth seems to be really hard for people to understand and/or accept. I'd like to share with you some truth.

Football is a team game. Some call it the ultimate team game. The media and internet 'experts' try to oversimplify it and tell you that it's the QB... But it's not on him individually. It is one of the most important positions but it's not the key metric to team success. Fantasy football has also helped perpetuate this belief.

I'll give you a couple of examples:
Aaron Rodgers is largely believed to be one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. He has ONE super bowl on his resume with a lot of playoff failures.
Patrick Mahomes. Often considered the next coming of football Jesus... has struggled mightily when things aren't perfect around him, including the last SuperBowl and an ~8 game stretch this season where the Chiefs had to go way back to the basics and sort of 'reset' their offense around running the ball and fundamentals.
Justin Herbert. Another second coming... missed the playoffs once again.

You might read that and think I'm now blaming those QBs for a lack of success. I'm not. They are examples of GREAT QBs in different stages of their careers that are struggling or have struggled.

The Chiefs got going because the DEFENSE became dominant and they committed to running the ball. Green Bay's big coaching change really just was a coach that committed to the run game. Look at the Rams. They run the ball they win. Stafford had 8 passes at half vs the Cards.

The truth is... Dak is a top 10 QB in this league. The team failed to execute (penalties). The coaches failed to develop consistent game plans that WON football games. They failed to rest injured players and exploit advantages The FO failed to address key position groups. And, at times, Dak failed too. But it's the team.
Good stuff

Stop comparing Dak to QBs who have won things.

It’s only a team sport when the QB isn’t that good.

The teams with the best QBs win more times than not.

Joe Burrow went to one of the worst organizations in not only football but all of sports and he’s 1 game away from a AFC title game behind one of the worst Olines in football.

It’s a QB driven league and it’s not an accident our guy has 1 playoff wildcard win in 6 seasons. He’s just not that good.

:clap::hammer::flagwave:

Notice how when Dak throws for 440 yards and 5 TDs against the Giants, WFT, Eagles and Falcons, none of these "it's a team game" folks ever say, "Wow! Did you see Cee Dee and Amari put the team on its shoulders with those spectacular catches." Or, "The offensive line was pancaking defenders left and right giving Dak ample time to throw. It really wasn't Dak. It was the offensive line."

No.

You usually get "Where are the Dak haters now?" "Dak shut the haters up." "He just proved he's an elite quarterback."

It's a team game when we lose. It's Dak Attack when we win.

Well,
I mean if you look at Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Seattle New England and Kansas City and agree that these teams have enjoyed some level of consistent success over the last 5 to 10 or 15 years or more...

And then you add in all the roster turnover, contracts, retiring etc of each team's players, coordinators and position coaches after each season ends...

You gotta sort out what other than the head coach could have been the most important element and THE most important common denominator reason for these teams continued consistent success?

Hmmmmmm...

It ain't rocket science. Those teams do NOT sustain that level of success without the QB.

Those that try to minimize and downplay the role the QB has in NFL team success are interesting.

The ones who have claimed to have played or coached or both are even more interesting.

QB is probably a 15 of your total team strength pie.
Other 21 positions divide up the rain 85.
Every offensive decision go through the QB. Often, the success, or failure, of the QB has huge effect on rest of the team.
All positions are important....but some more important than others.
