I think it’s coaching and the Packers not capitalizing on their chances. No points at end of half was killer, settling for a FG on the next red zone drive left the door open.
This Niner team is terrible at QB. Jimmy thows 3-4 boneheaded balls a game.
But they counter that with the team. They do not ask him to win games, just don't lose them.

As I watched that game last night, close to the rapture at seeing Aarongant Rodgers and his hang dog look, I thought of the Giants when they beat the Cowboys to go on and win their SB and give the Patriots their first loss.

The Cowboys that year had the better talent but not the better ability to play as a team and that's what the Niners put on display against the Rams, Cowboys and now the Packers.

I hope the coaching staff takes a long hard look at that coaching staff and how they stick with it and show incredible patience while probably having the least rated QB, and all around nice guy, in the playoffs. They stick with their plan.

I hope the players look at that and know why they lost that game and why Green Bay lost that game. Because the Niners are a team, they personify team and all of their concentration and focus is on the team when they play. They are of a single purpose.

That was what beat the Cowboys in both of those games, a better team. Not better talent, better teams.

When the Packers went through the Niners defense like a hot knife through butter, did you catch yourself thinking "how would the Cowboys respond to that'? Me too.

In this age of the highly praised and highly paid QB and all about the stars in the game, it is refreshing and reassuring a team can still win games they are picked to lose. They have been a pleasure to watch in these last three games and have got the owners scratching their heads a little bit. They didn't know a team could still do that.

That was a real throwback last night and I enjoyed something I haven't seen in a while, every play mattered. There was drama on every play as the most dangerous QB in the game proved it is still all about the team.

I hope our team takes a look at that team and sees the difference between them as a team and the Niners as a team. Because that's why they lost that game. They lost to a better team.
Yes, they certainly do resemble those Giants and the path is very similar. Think about this too: after the ‘07 Giants beat the Packers, Brett Favre left for the Jets. And here we are probably about to see Rodgers leave.

Even with the Giants, it was all about QB play. Eli had 2 amazing playoff runs in 2007 and 2011. 15 TDs, 2 interceptions, 6 multi-touchdown games while attempting less than 27 passes just once.

Garoppolo so far has a 25 attempt day, a 19 attempt day, 2 interceptions, 303 total yards, and no touchdowns. They will not get past either of the other two powerhouse NFC teams unless that changes.
They were not supposed to get past the Cowboys or Packers.

The Packers last night were dependent on their QB and the Niners were not. Just like the Cowboys the week before. And the Bucs and Rams will be as well.

Every team in the NFC playoffs, except two, are all about their stars: Brady, Rodgers, Prescott, Murray and Stafford and each of these teams is dependent on their stars to deliver.

Unless you are pretty much a Niners fan, the stars of that game were not well known. They are the blue collar, lunch pail team of the playoffs.

I couldn't agree more coach that was a throwback game right there.

And the team that wanted it more won as I watched debo, Trent Williams and kittle limp on and off the field but never give up you could see the tide turning.

Our team can look at the 49ers and see great team play but they are not capable of wanting it as much as the 49ers do.

Our players put their best efforts into getting big contracts and maximizing their careers and windows of opportunity to make big money just like their owner.

The 49er showed on a snowy night when the ground was hard as a quarry rock pile that they would sacrifice their bodies for a championship something our team can never wrap their head around.

“Jimmy” is only winning because the Cowboys and Packers were frauds this year. Guarantee he loses to a team like the Bills or Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Tampa would probably take care of them handily as well.

The 49ers punctuate what it takes to win this era. Pressuring and causing havoc from DL to these better and Elite QB’s.

That’s the similarity I see in that 2007 Giants which caused havoc upsetting the GOAT. Something we couldn’t have done if we reached that far.

No , in an era with flashy passing offenses SF plays an old fashion style of smash mouth football rushing the ball and pressure defense. It took them to a SB two years ago. Something I think had fallen on deaf ears this season.

Show me a defense which can stymy the #1 offense to only 17 points and arguably the best QB this era in NFC to only 10 points and I’ll show you a team playing for another opportunity to a Super Bowl.

I like that they have so many run plays that have actual good designs and it’s not just a handoff out of shotgun because the QB checked out of a pass with 2 high safeties.
There is a major difference in the offensive philosophy of SF and DAL. SF runs to run and DAL runs to pass. DAL is more interested in showcasing their stars for the owner's ego.

No. When the giants beat us that year we were more talented. And had a run game. If we had a run game we would have…. Never mind Moore wouldn’t have used it..

I was thinking the same thing after the game last night. I thought that the cold weather made Rodgers look old, just like the cold weather made Favre look old when the Giants beat them in Green Bay..

Ironically, the weather probably hurt Green Bay more than San Francisco by neutralizing Farve's passing game.

We'll have to see what happens next but I still think the 49ers are playing over their heads right now.

Shocking thing is 1 to 2 months back 49ers were not even in the conversation to mame playoffs. They were 2-5 to start the season.

That might be true in Super bowl. But there’s no shame in knocking off these high powered offenses and QB’s in NFC to get there.

And for the record I like the Bills and Rams opportunities today to pull off upsets for much the same reason . DEFENSE

I think the Bucs have too many injuries on offense and missing key WRs to have success against Rams. they also can't run the ball effectively...so Rams will probably beat the bucs...and it will be a repeat of Rams/Niners last game of the season. I don't think Rams will squander the chance again.

That’s because of injuries. And schedule. But once they started winning with the return of everyone it didn’t receive enough attention for a team only 2 years removed from a SB. That’s how the hype and media often play out. They were off the radar screen. They aren’t now.

The 49ers, aside from Jimmy G, are built the right way. Fairness to Shanahan, they clearly thought Jimmy G was more than he is and did try to draft his replacement in Trey Lance.
Disagree. They were horrific beginning of the season (2-5). They got hot at the right time. They didn't even make the playoffs last year.

That’s is how it’s shaping up. Still have to knock out the GOAT. No easy task but they can do it.
