Think about it. If it’s a dead-ball foul and on 4th down, the possession had gone to LA the moment the ball was dead. If it happens on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down, possession wouldn’t have gone over to LA as soon as the ball was dead. In that regard, it’s similar to a dead-ball foul after an interception.

When there’s a taunting penalty after a TD, they don’t make them play it again, they assess it on the kick. This is the same thing, as soon as the ball touches the ground the play is over. He got him in between plays
Taunting after a play is not the same as destroying the guy who just had the ball go off his hands.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. The play was over. It was 4th down and the pass was incomplete. At that point it’s the Ram’s ball. The hit came after the play was over. You don’t have to agree but you’d be wrong.
