After watching Aaron Donald we could really use something similar

Does anybody other than me get the feeling that we could really use something similar to that in the middle of our defensive line.
Is there a reason why we can't use a high draft pick on a player that can impact the game like that. He isn't even a real big guy 6-1. 284. This guy has a motor that just won't stop

I don't even think Jerry's horrible culture could stop this guy's motor

Thoughts???

Every time the cowboys have won a SB they have been VERY STRONG up the middle. Bob Lilly and Randy White and others who were better than anyone we have had for twenty years nearly (occasionally we have had ONE really good player in the middle but no more) In The 90's we had several who were all pretty much the same (except for Lett who was Pro Bowl caliber) Maryland and Cassius and others.

Like so many other things the Jones boys miss this and keep trying to get by with jags and worse.

31 other teams literally look for an Aaron Donald clone every season.

There is only one Donald
I hear you there is only one Donald but I would sure like to find somebody similar.

I would just settle for someone who could stay healthy and reliably stop the run

Every team wants an Aaron Donald. Only 1 gets him though. How many DT's play at his level? 1 and it's not even close for most of the rest.

And that is exactly what Jerry probably thinks so he does not even try.

We had Bob Lilly and Randy White who were right there with Donald if not better. Lett was not that far off either. Since then? NADA.

Aaron Donald is a generational talent. He might be the greatest DT who ever played. His combination of speed, size, and most importantly, his motor are rarely seen.

He is actually the prototypical Rod Marinelli DT and Rod could never come close to finding someone with that level of talent.

If we didn't have such a crappy LT, LG and C, I would totally be onboard with what you're saying. People were barreling through our O'line making Dak run for his life. That should be priority...Again, if it wasn't for that, then yes, I totally agree with you...

He’s a generational talent. Khalil Mack and Micah Parsons, if Parsons continues to play like he did the year ever year of his career, are guys that can be mentioned with him as impact players. But they are LBs and Parsons can’t do what Donald does.

The difference is Donald is a DT. To be this dominant at DT position for this long while getting double and triple teams is just on a different level. Just watch him and see the resources offense put in trying to stop him.

This also shows how good Zach Martin is, because when Zach lined up against him, they effectively neutralize each other.

Well the next time we've a pick in the first half of the draft a Donald type may fall to us.

Pretty sure even the Rams would not mind a 2nd one, but it’s hard when you don’t draft in the first ever.

Outside of being a fan of a particular team, there are some guys you just can’t hate and love watching no matter what team they play for, because of how they play the game. They are so good that even if you hate the team they play for, they warn your respect because of their greatness. Aaron Donald is one of them.
