In order for a guy like Kupp to deserve that award they'd need to rename it. As long as value is the determining factor he would never compare to the value of a franchise QB. He is not more valuable to the Rams than Mahomes is to the Chiefs, Burrow to the Bengals, Rodgers to the Packers, etc.

Just take a look at his own team. He blew up this year. Why? Does anybody believe he'd have had this same season if Goff was still throwing him the football? It was the impact and value of Stafford that made the real difference. His QB deserves the award more than he does. He's not a better player but he's a more valuable one. His level of play means more.

A best overall player award would bring him into serious consideration.

I wanted to draft him in the 2nd round when he came out. Dak had so much success with Beasley during his rookie year and I thought Kupp could do the same things as Beasley but better plus also provide a vertical threat. Cowboys really botched the 2017 draft. It should have been TJ Watt in the 1st round and Kupp in the 2nd round (not hindsight those are the guys that I wanted during the draft).

Kupp (1,993) and Samuel (1,845) ranked 1-2 in the NFC in all-purpose yards. Kupp's 2,209 yards from scrimmage this season, including the playoffs, are the most by a receiver in NFL history, while Samuel needs only 44 yards this weekend to pass Jerry Rice (1995) for second place on that list. (not sure if he did)

Kupp and Samuel carry an inordinate amount of weight for their teams' success for a receiver. The Rams and the 49ers probably wouldn’t be in the NFC championship game without two of the game’s top playmakers driving their offenses forward.

In fact, they probably wouldn’t even have won last week.

While it wasn't on par with Calvin Johnsons record year Cooper has been outstanding in the regular season and postseason.

They need to rename the MVP award if it's going to just be QBs most years.

Kupp had a better year than Calvin Johnson during his record year. Although Kupp played one more game. During Calvin Johnson’s record year he caught 122 passes for 1964 yards and 5 TDs. Kupp caught 145 passes for 1947 yards and 16 TDs. If I was voting for MVP I would give it to Kupp.

I remember my first game at Texas Stadium. December 1991 vs Saints.

Watching the QBs warm up....including an injured Troy Aikman (he looked fine to me at the time, but ok Jimmy, we trust you).....along with Buerlein and a guy we made fun of....Kupp's old man.

Wow.

Krupp would average 700 yards and 3 TD's with Dak as QB

As a Cowboys fan living in Los Angeles, I pay attention to the Rams. Kupp was rising when Goof (mean Goff) was QB. So much that Kupp was sorely missed when the Rams played the Pats in the Super Bowl. No one will truly know if Rams would have won. But no one will convince Rams fans otherwise.

The Chargers? Oh boy.

oh don't forget......In KMoore's offense too. Seemingly and conveniently left that part out. I don't honor his immunity on the board.

He broke the all-time record for yards from scrimmage by a WR. So, that is on par with Calvins big 2012 year when he 1964 yards receiving and 5 TDs. Cooper had 1947 yards receiving alone and 16 TDs.........so who had the better year? uh, Kupp.

And for all the posters who come on here who complain about the speed of our wrs, I give you Cooper Kupp and his 4.62 speed.

He has excellent football speed. He is always running away from coverage and defenders on his way to the end zone. He's been phenomenal.

Kupp is great.

The MVP will always be a QB award though because they are the most valuable to a teams success.
