Football is the ultimate team sport but the QB is always going to get the brunt of the blame when things aren’t going well because they have such a big influence on wins and losses. It’s been proven this season with Matt Stafford that a QB has to have a real good team around them to get it done. After spinning his wheels for over a decade in Detroit he’s going to the Super Bowl with the Rams. Had he stayed in Detroit he would’ve been sitting home for the playoffs again.

Strange post...

I'll concede that the Cincy defensive coordinator probably deserves a lifetime extension and key to Cincinatti for the rest of his time on Earth for his unit's second half performance yesterday.

By that same token, I Iost count of how many dropbacks without reaching 3 Mississippi that the ball was outta Burrow's hand yesterday. After suffering a 51 sack and who knows how many hits regular season AND a history making 9 sack heroic performance against the one seed a week prior?

And to downplay this kid's impact? Uh....
No.

To further dismiss or downplay the impact of the outstanding performance of Rodgers and Mahommes on their teams consistent playoff appearances over recent years is reaching imo.
All units contributed? yes
But was the QB the main reason they were there in the first place? Again yes.

To also include Allen in this year's highly impactful QB group.
Stafford's got some key positional helpers in a few spots but his year's overall performance and impact were quite noteworthy as well.

If Jimmy G would have won you could have done a contrasting ways of reaching the SB post.

But the ones minimizing the importance of the most important position on the field I always disagree with.

I think it near impossible for the current QB1 for this team to lead this team to 3 to 4 consecutive postseason wins against playoff level QB, defenses and coaching staffs.

Dak plays “well” against crappy teams in the regular season. No “hater” goes into hiding because of that; I assure you.

He looked great against the Bucs in the first game and they aren't a crappy team. It's not Daks fault Brady drove down the field in a minute to set them up for a game winning fg.

Dak beat the Chargers in LA, Eagles and Patriots in NE... these are teams who were all in the playoffs. Dak beat the Panthers who were 3-0 at the time and had the number one rated defense when we beat them....

Dak beat the Saints. Were they crappy?? Some can say yes and some may say no.... Dak beat the Saints, but Brady and Aaron Rodgers couldn't beat this same "crappy" Saints team. Hmmm....

This is a team game. Dak played well enough to win other games that we loss, and Dak also didn't do enough in some games that we could have won. Dallas led the league in penalties, but none of those penalties were called on Dak. Dak is at fault for some of our shortcomings, but its kind of hard to get your offense going when you're starting at 1st and 15 or 2nd and 25 every other possession. Leading the league in penalties is not Dak's fault, but Dak has things to work on too.

I have argued for years on this forum and elsewhere that football is the ultimate team game.

Time and Time again, "internet experts" keep telling me "it's the QB... it's the QB"

Can you "eXpErTs" explain to me how this can be true when the exact same QB in Matt Stafford that "couldn't win a playoff game" is now in the Super Bowl? Could it be that his TEAM is in the Super Bowl and he didn't have that level of TEAM when in Detroit?

How are Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes sitting at home? Could it be that their TEAMS didn't play well enough to win?

Dak is more than capable of going to and winning the super bowl. But HE and the TEAM have to put it all together.

He definitely is not all the problem, but if he wants to be paid 40 mil, he needs to be getting the ball to Cooper and Lamb, coaching sure, but some of that falls on him as well.

Problem is we paid elite money for an above average quarterback. He will never be a mahomes, Brady, wilson, Rodgers and so on but the clown show running the offense and some fans think otherwise

Partially agree, but then again I dont. You're right in that Dak has some notable wins under his belt. You're also right that its a team game.

Dak is a huge factor is many of the teams shortcomings though, even the penalty numbers. Dak being slow to his reads, not being able to get the ball out, poor presnap reads, etc. are all leading to penalties, especially holding calls. Snapping the ball without having your guys set....thats at least partially on Dak.

That is where i'm so lost on how to fix this defense. First 7 weeks this team seemed unstoppable and Dak was a legit MVP candidate. He comes back and he looks like a low end starter. Is that strictly on Dak? Did teams simply adjust to Kellens scheme and his inexperience showed in trying to adjust back? Did the Oline really break down that bad the second half to where Dak just never had a chance? I really dont have an answer.

It's almost like you guys share one brain or something. He got paid what he did simply because his contract was due at the right time.

If any of the better qb's contracts came up at the same time, he would not have been the highest. Thats why Josh Allen gets paid more.

Josh Allens is 6 years w/ 150MM guaranteed
Dak is 4 years w/ 126MM guaranteed
Mahomes is 10 years w/ 140MM guaranteed

Josh Allen & Mahomes both have a much team friendlier deals. Dak has more guaranteed money per year and a shorter term contract. Dak completely took the Cowboys to the cleaners, and will look for another monster deal in just a couple years.

On todays edition of Why Dak does not suck? The church of Dak will attempt to claim that teams that have had success in the playoffs and have lost this weekend is somehow proof positive that Dak does not suck.

……and the blame for that goes to Mr. Jones…….however the blame for shrinking like a prune in the playoffs goes to…….
