Yeah, everyone else is failing Dak inciuding the GM and the coaches and other players but somehow the “elite QB” bears little to no responsibility
Sometimes you just have to make a play no matter what’s called.

He is what he has always been. A mid level QB that can play well when the running game is leading the offense.

Expecting him to “carry” the team as a passer is a failure on the part of management to accurately evaluate the player.

The fact he was able to hold the franchise over a barrel and get $40 mil per year is also their fault— because they balked when they could have signed him for 30 mil per year two seasons earlier.

The only way we win with Prescott is to cut ties with Philbin, hire a genius running focused OL coach, add OL talent and rebuild the OL, cut Zeke, feed Pollard, and add another dynamic RB to the mix so that Dak can utilize play-action whenever necessary.

His limitations as a QB will handcuff production against any defense that can stop our ground game. Therefore— while he is QB, invest resources in making the ground game as unstoppable as possible.
That goes for any QB.

How did Mahomes perform during this season's AFC Championship Game and last year's Super Bowl?

Case cased.

Something happened when he got hurt. Clearly he wasn't the same players after that. My guess is he is right back to where he was by summer and we will see the 2021 pre-injury Dak again.
It is a mystery but this team keeps that type of thing hidden. They did that with Emmit, and evidently Elliott and maybe Prescott.

So funny the pattern...

Post something of someone's opinion that has no idea, everyone chime in with the same tired responses about Dak.

Is this week 2 of no football?

Should be fun.
Oh we just getting this off season started lol

Confidence is the single most important aspect in someone’s game to determine how well he’s going to play.. you can have the talent, the skill, but if you lose confidence it goes out the window..

The good news is that confidence can also be trained.. I always thought Romo was a flat out choker, never cared for him because he was indeed a bonified choker… but then late in his career he changed; he no longer lost confidence and that’s when I thought ok this Romo can take us to a sb..

I feel the same with Dak.. he’s good enough and if he plays like he can and not get in his own head; we have a shot.

This is why they have to change the offense for him. SF would be in the SB with Dak. He needs this type of offense or Tennessee style offense. He’s paid to do it all but he can’t do it all. Stop making him something he isn’t throwing the ball all over the lot.

He performed better than most Dak included at least he played in 4 straight CCG's and 2 SB's, yeah Mahomes is just a bum, JAG kinda QB that every team covets, Dak is what many teams have a tier 2 kind of guy which isn't a bad thing unless you mortgage the future for him. But no worries the cap means nothing to folks like you it's next year or bust, just think 6 seasons of tier 2 level play and next year it all clicks and away they go, don't forget this is a championship team that only needs all-pros at every Offensive position except QB, can't wait to see the Jerry draft talent reaches and all those all-world free agents he brings in. SB ready, Jerry say's so.

It doesn't take a former NFL player to see this.

The dude can't handle pressure. It was easy when you were the 4th round pick, feel good story, that was overachieving.

Now you're paid, expected to be great, and expected to lead your team places. When you don't you're going to get criticized much more for it because of your contract.

His skills can't back up everyones expectations for him. He knows this.
if cowboys fail spectacularly next season that’s when all hell will break lose.

just
….if true, it’s the worst possible scenario. At least a physical injury will heal but if it’s in his head, it might be tougher to get over. A sports psychologist wouldn’t be the worst idea.

Many high paid executives get “life coaching” from experts and if I had a 160 million dollar employee with a mental based issue, I would spare no expense in getting him/her help
just needs a xanax or pain killer like a lot of Hof QBs

Whatever the problems are on offense, I certainly hope the FO and coaching staff can fix them. Being repetitive, fixing the Oline will immediately help the running game. Fixing the Dline will immediately help the defense take another big step forward.

Either he was hiding an injury or his confidence was down because of getting injured again this season or something else. I don't know. I just want him to back to what he was preinjury this year...and work on his game in the off-season. he does that and I have no beef.

Instead of thinking the start of the season was Daks norm people have to think it was an anomaly. If you look at his career he has always had trouble with accuracy and reading defenses. If a QB cant do these two things well you might as well get a RB to play WB. Heck, Cedric Wilson to play QB.

Had to quit after Sanders was greatest player of all time. For the record a qb cannot do it alone but a good can put you o er the top. A accurate qb with a average arm can get u there with a lot of help. Dak has been measured, they give him outside, they give him a crowded middle. As a result he holds the ball. Once teams get ahead, they back off and Dak begins to complete the middle and we score but it's too late. This is now the status quo for defening Dak. He will excel against crap defeses and stink against average or better.
So yes, they've climbed in his head. He cannot get them out. It would mean throwing into tight middle coverage or like Romo was screaming take the 10 yd out!!
But he cannot.
Wanna save him? Possibly?
Move him around, and hire a OL coach, not the epic fail we have now. Of have some back ups, in case you have to bench the 40million dollar mistake.
For the record, i love Dak, I hope we give him a script he can win with, because he's done in the pocket every play.
KELLEN!

  • Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw
  • Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions
  • Must speed up the pace of his reads
  • Footwork is a mess
Thats the scouting report on Dak pre-draft. This and his average arm landed him in round 4. Nothing has changed.

That is what scares me about Dak. His lost confidence is a big issue. Dak has not been the same quarterback since the Cowboys collapse in 2019. He makes one great throw, then the next throw is in the stands. Dak is basically Jimmy G.
When a guy does that it isn’t because of lack of confidence…maybe in his players yeah…he has no confidence in his line to block or receivers to be open when he needs them to be.
