When a guy does that it isn’t because of lack of confidence…maybe in his players yeah…he has no confidence in his line to block or receivers to be open when he needs them to be.

Dude, they were often "NFL open." Dak just refuses to throw them open and often throws it behind them. That's on Dak. The line not blocking isn't on him. Dak does need to work on his confidence. His mechanics were fine the first part of the season and now they're not fine. He needs to fix that. I think he's capable of fixing it. The entire team acted like it didn't have confidence in the playoffs. Well, with a couple of exceptions. Dak was not one of those exceptions.

Homers will take from this that you need more than the quarterback to win championships
Haters will take from this that Dak does not have the It Factor and he can't galvanize his team mates to raise their game and win.

Not trying to defend the 40 million man, but the blocking of the interior OL....in real time anyway....was pretty bad.

Not sure I'll ever care enough to really go back and study it, but I don't care WHO you are or what your name is, if your center and/or LG are routinely getting beat badly, you aren't going to have success.

Call it excuses all you like, but he isnt good enough to overcome constant jailbreaks or running plays that go no where.

The barbarians are at the gates and at some point will raid the Dak castle.
The imposter is running out of time as the media and the fan base are coming out of the Dak ether and realizing the ineptness of Dak-Friendly.
That contract has changed it all for Dak creating massive pressures and next season just might be his last as starting QB of America's team.
We can only hope.......

I don’t disagree. My main point is his issues don’t come across as lack of confidence….just looks like a guy who’s play is off. If we want to use the excuse of confidence then so be it. I don’t see it.

Lol it's pretty dumb to attack a guys career because he is giving his opinion on another person's play right now
I’m not attacking him that’s factual. He went from the best in the league to one of the worst starters…was he lacking confidence? Saying a guy is lacking confidence is just a lazy opinion. I expect it from fans on here but not someone who actually played. But he’d never say his career went the way it did because of “confidence” lol.

Yea, I think he'd be honest about his play going down due to injuries

Also his career has nothing to do with the subject so why bring it up?

He claims Barry Sanders is the greatest player of all time and that he didn’t even sniff the playoffs? lol He made it to an NFC title game once. If you’re going to do TV shows/podcasts try getting your facts straight. And Barry Sanders isn’t the greatest player of all time. The only thing I agree with is Dak definitely lost some confidence.

Yea! Another Dak thread by some random RB dude with a random opinion.

Next, we'll have a thread with Charlie Sheen's take on things
next up, swimmer, Mark Spitz, Kamala Harris, and then Rosie ODonnell

Come on
may as well be stating "hey, the sun came up in the East today!"
obvious stuff

otherwise, the takes are too extreme both ways
He's better (and worse) than many of you think

The one thing that is really silly no matter how you look at it is those thinking Dak didn't have enough offensive players around him. That's lunacy.

It doesn't take a former NFL player to see this.

His skills can't back up everyones expectations for him. He knows this.

It doesn’t take a former player to see that Dak is still that 4th round pick who overachieved, big contract or not. A logical person knows that it’s Jerry’s fault - not Dak’s - for hyping him up with that ridiculous contract. My expectations have always been the same: Dak can play very well when our OL and run game is clicking, but we’re not beating playoff teams by asking him to go out and win the game with just his arm.

To be fair, how many mid-late round picks are throwing for 4500 yards and almost 40 TDs? The 6 QBs with a better statistical year in 2021 were 1st rounders, except for Carr who was a 2nd rounder. You want someone like Mahomes or Burrow? Draft a QB in the 1st round, not the 4th.

We just have to hope Dak doesn’t end up like Carson Wentz. Once Wentz lost his confidence he was shot.

That goes for any QB.

How did Mahomes perform during this season's AFC Championship Game and last year's Super Bowl?

Case cased.

Tom Brady thrived for years with mediocre RBs in NE because he did three things well:

1. Read the defensive alignment
2. Get rid of the ball quickly
3. Take the open, short, quick dumpoff read

Dak himself has said multiple times that he’s greedy. He is what he is— an average QB and a good leader. If he improves on 1,2, and 3 above— we will be a better offense for it. But he will need to break a lot of ingrained bad habits in order to do so

He is what he is. The only thing he was and still is is overhyped. All that’s happening now is people are calling him out and that hype is wearing off for him. Him and Tad want the crappy performance and the hype. Doesn’t work that way.

….. very good point. Since he’s been in this league, the media and a percentage of fans have tried to make the case that’s he’s elite talent and that he’s the wind that can fill all sails. But just like everything in life, there’s a point when either there is success or failure and after 6 seasons the amount of people still propping up a false image gets less and less…….even ESPN has stopped carrying the torch for him and that’s pretty bad.
