Ware was let go because he was a shell of himself the end of those last 2012 and 2013 seasons. Just look at this one highlight video from our 2012 win or go home vs Commanders. Look at how many times he gets washed down or just looked completely lost.

No they didn't, unless it was one of those stray idiots that appear online at times.. Most people loved Ware until near the end of his time in Dallas his health and production diminished and people started to question whether he was still worth the salary. But even then I don't remember people putting all the blame for all defensive woes directly on Ware.

In 2014, our first season without Ware...when we went 12-4 and lost in GB, Ware had 10 sacks that season

Not saying we would have beat GB...and then gone to Seattle and won...or even beat NE in the Super Bowl, but we cut a guy who could help us in an area we sorely lacked talent

Just my recollection, most people around here thought he was done and were ready to move on

The success of 2014 surprised people, so maybe that would have effected people's minds, but most were done with him after 2013

Ware didn't help himself when he and the rest of the defense were coasting it in the Packers game that eventually led to Phillips being fired. Stuff like that sours you on a player.

Oh, most definitely. At least on the DC boards people were saying to cut him and that it was business and nothing personal. Then, as soon as Ware signed a 3 year/$30M deal with quickness, people started trashing him, saying he was a loser, etc. and one poster whom I haven't seen around here in a while even called him a PED drug cheat. Most disgusting display I've ever seen from this fanbase.

We weren't going to be using Ware in the same way - he was going to get really banged up here in Dallas when we went to the 4-3 straight up. Phillips was using Ware in a lot of different ways with Denver.

Our sack leaders that season were Jeremey Mincey (6 sacks), Henry Melton (5 sacks), Tyrone Crawford (3 sacks) and George Selvie (3 sacks).

If you believe he wouldn't have been our best pass rusher regardless, then I don't know what to say
