That's a pretty ambiguous way of describing it, isn't it? They didn't "show up?"

It sounds like he's saying the current team isn't as motivated to winning or it could be that they were not prepared. It might also mean that they just aren't talented enough.

I mean it was obvious that they came out flat. However, it's not like got blown out. They came out just short of time. They should have won.
It's true that some Cowboys played poorly.
Thats what I call a neutral deflection, as though you are obviously smart enough to recognize the problem, but for some reason too resistant to come out and admit what the elephant in the room really is..

Not exactly groundbreaking material he is giving us. lol

Should we say the same about the Packers playoff game against SF?

He means unmotivated. You are making it sound like the cowboys didn't play uninspired football and will lose. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who can see what kind of game it is going to be sometimes in the first quarter, sometimes even the first few moments, where you know the team is flat and then you say to yourself, "oh it is going to be one of those kind of games", and sure enough they lose. Sure they always come back many times and make it a lot closer than it should've been. But we've seen that trend with romo too where we make a semi comeback and then lose by 7 or 3 points. I mean we can all be in denial or we can face reality.

We had no flippin' business winning that game. Only Jimmy G. self-destruct mode gave us any chance at all. And to bungle the last play of the game like that? Tell yourself what you need to like the CONSPIRACY! dolts around here do but truth is truth. Sadly, no cares about that anymore. Now it's "whine 'til it's mine."

I don't get the "choked" thing. Dallas went 1-5 versus the West divisions. Five playoff teams came from those divisions. The only one Dallas beat, the Chargers, missed the playoffs.

Precisely. This whole "not showing up" thing is a red herring. The Cowboys got beat by a superior team in SF and anyone that watched that game could see it.

If not for an absolutely putrid NFCE, maybe the worst I've ever seen, where the Cowboys got 6 of their wins, the Cowboys would have finished the regular season somewhere in the 9-8 range.

This isn't rocket science. DS needs to stop muddying the waters here like they are somehow better than they really are but just "didn't show up".

It's absurd.

I 100% agree with Deon’s comment that you never know what Cowboys are going show up. One week they look great and the next week they look terrible. They followed up their three highest scoring games this season with a loss.

Truth in Deon's statement, you always knew during the 90's you would not see any one choke or fold if we got beat it was because a damn good and better team beat us, (well usually any way) there was never under achieving at least that I can recall and not like I saw this year. Even if there was someone underperforming you knew there was going to be hell to pay for that player.

Old school attributes like tackling?

He is one of those Cowboys I have never liked as a person but never not liked as a player. Irvin is another. Which is good because I only cared to watch them as players.

With Sanders, I used to marvel at the QB's that would continuously throw those "oh hell, he's faster than I thought he was" passes that he would bait them for all the time. He was that CB that made me second guess the term "NFL open".

None of you, nor Deion, can refute the statistical comment I made towards Deion earlier in this thread. Facts are facts.
I like that you throw Cowboys legends, HOfers, and Champions like Aikman under the bus to defend a bum like Dak.

It lets us easily separate the Cowboys fans from the just Dak fans.

Keep up the bad work!

Indeed, we have become the bullies on the block.
We beat up on inferior opponents, the small kids on the block and then get punched in the jaw so hard vs the big boys that we go home and cry to mommy.
That is our Dallas Cowboys currently, about as disgraceful an era as I can ever begin to imagine.

I remember watching the sideline video of the Cowboys during the Falcons game. They were ecstatic, talking about how soft the Falcons were and how they were ready to go home.

I betcha the better teams were saying the same thing about us.

And I can't get out of my mind the look of fear the Cowboys had before the 49ers game, whereas the Niners were calm, loose and ready to play and kick some names and take some butts.

This is sad yet so very true.
I remember losing my appetite briefly with a hot wing in my hand, I had to pause and wonder what just happened.

I'm sure if McCarthy gets fired next year Deion will be given one of those Rooney rule interviews.
