When was the point it hit you, the sport had changed in Dallas?

When I realized just what "from jocks to socks" really meant. And that had additional impact when I realized he was going to do the job part-time with his circle of good ole boys to consult him.

But the nail in the coffin was getting the new stadium.
Once that was a done deal and I realized the plan all along was for an entertainment venue with a football field inside it, I thought it highly unlikely they would return to the Big Dance as long as he was in charge.

AMEN brother!!!

Social Media for me. When I didn't pay attention to salary cap and Jones interviews/radio shows, I was just a disappointed fan when they lost. The more you read and think you know why the Cowboys haven't won the more you realize it's not about football or championships any more but all about the money.

The Dallas Cowboys are the most polarized franchise in the NFL.

I was a Landry fan. Jimmy won Superbowls and was a force to be reckoned with. When I saw Switzer eating a hotdog on the sideline at the ProBowl, I felt like we had fallen so far that we might never find our way back to respectability. Looking back, I'm not sure I was wrong.

Now in retrospect......this was the turning point....

The minute this numb nuts was hired. Football hasn't been the same since. Killing the sport one rule change @ a time.

The Probowl? They should have jugglers and clowns and elephants and tigers and highwires, it is just a circus show you know.

The NFL changed for me tonight. I've never been a conspiracy theorist, but watching that last Rams drive versus the Bengals - in Hollywood - was ridiculous.

Cincinnati had more penalties in 3 plays - with the Rams in the red zone on their last-ditched drive - than they had in 3 and a half quarters before then.

What an absolute joke. But the NFL Network is in Los Angeles, so don't expect any outcry from them. It's just a "great comeback" by the hometown Rams.

Dallas franchises are a bunch of pansies. Their owners don't actually care about winning, they care more about money. Jones cares about "America's team" mantra more than he cares about getting a 1st class team/coach/QB to win a chip. Rangers, I don't even really care about that loser franchise and the Mavs went after a career nobody in KP and now after realizing this, they move on. Why couldn't I have been born in Boston?

March 30, 1994. However it happened, whatever happened, you move heaven and earth… put your own ego aside, and get your Head Coach to come back for a 3 peat.

and if that doesn’t work, you don’t look for the next head coach on a couch in Norman, OK. You find the next best damn coach for the team.

the beginning of 27 years of horrid mismanagement
Was gonna post the same damned thing... friggin stupid.

For me, it was when Jerry brought back Garrett after three straight "win and your in" losses I knew this owner was an unserious person who views this franchise as his own little mad scientist experiment.

When Wade Phillips was hired as head coach. I, foolishly as it turns out, thought the Parcells hiring meant Jerry had learned "his way" wasn't working. Hiring a retread no one else was offering a HC position told me otherwise. Wade was just happy to have the job and let Jerry be Jerry, and JG was waiting in the wings.

Now we're doing it all over again with another retread no one else was pursuing to be HC, and another boy wonder OC looking over his shoulder. Both are happy to be there and let Jerry do his thing, which is likely to continue producing similar results. Meanwhile, ol' Jerry is (allegedly) screaming into his pillow.
If it had taken Jerry 10 years after the last Super Bowl win to realized he sucked and change what he was doing you would easily forgive him. But the fact he hasn't learned a thing in 25 years makes me despise him

“Let the Cowboys ride!!!”

That will forever be ingrained in my brain. One of the stupidest moments to ever come out of a NFL head coach press conference.
