Cowboys Draft Strategy for 2022

Boys have 7 picks. Free Agency tapped us out last year. Talks of Amari Cooper & DeMarcus Lawrence being cut. O line a mess. LBs short handed,pass rusher needed. Safeties up for free agency,WRs could be depleted and possibly need a new starting TE. Besides RB possibly being a need.

Randy Gregory needs to be resigned

Somehow restructure Cooper's contract.


Work through the draft ,try to gather additional picks. Luckily this is a deep draft and sign some UDFAs that can make this team.

Draft strategy.
Round 1..... Draft an impact player at any position. Preferrably DL, TE, LB, or OL, but any position will work.
Round 2,3,4..... DL, TE, and LB are needs -- which position depends on what's available.
Round 5 both....... rebuild the OL and get a couple development guys
Round 6 .... C or S -- guy highest on board.

With this said, this strategy changes with FA. Massive amount of variation that the front office and players can move around with.

Will Tank take a cut? Which restructure are we talking, Cooper ? If these two aren't handled properly, then there is a need there.

I just see lots of ways to go, but don't see what and who the front office trusts and wants to work with.

Without seeing either play, Green looks like he is wearing an air tube and Johnson looks like a mountain of solid muscle.

Both are good, but I do like Zion Johnson better. He has quick feet and can play any o line position. He also was one of the few that held his own againist Travis Jones at the Senior Bowl.

An immediate starter and upgrade at LG, as well as Tyrons eventual replacement seems like a grand slam at 24.

Gregory besides Parsons is our best pass rusher. Teams cannot just lock in on Parsons on every play. Gregory can be a double digit guy if we can get Roger Goodell off his back.
