Cowboys Draft Strategy for 2022

I know you restructured Cooper, and I think that is the answer myself. I have a question for those who want to cut Coop and resign Gallup.

Is the WR group better with Gallup and without Coop than they were this year with both?
Is the team better with Gallup, CD, and a 1st round WR draft pick than if they had Cooper, CD, a descent #3 FA and the best TE in the draft ?

I just don't see any way in which Dallas can be better without Cooper. They might be just as good, but it will cost them draft capital and or FA money to get back to the level which they were currently at this last year. While I think Gallup and Wilson can be replaced fairly easily, I don't think Coop can be.

IMO, if you want the offense to get better -- you keep Coop (restructure yes), and get a much better TE that can catch and block -increasing both the running and passing games.
Next year you will need to be focusing on getting another RB.

Would agree that the team is NOT better off without Cooper. You need Cooper and can easily restructure him. Fans need to remember that the cap number is going to rise some $20/25 million each year for the next several years and even possibly more once the gambling numbers come into the fold. It should be no surprise to see Dallas restructure the likes of Prescott, Lawrence, Cooper, Martin and even Collins. There also will be cuts/trades, etc. this offseason so worrying about the cap is fruitless. Any team in contention does and will do it unless that got lucky drafting a bunch of good young players especially at QB but Cincy and Buffalo only have that luxury a couple more years.

As to draft strategy, I suspect we will see the same with short term contracts on some free agents and wouldn't be surprised to see names like Will Hernandez LG, O.J. Howard TE, Denzel Mims WR (Jets will most likely release him), Justin Reid S, Marcus Maye S, Danielle Hunter DE, Dante Fowler DE, Rashaan Evans LB, and maybe guys like Jalen Reagor WR (most expect him to be released by Philly) or Jordan Hicks LB (expected to be released by Cardinals). Will probably see Urban DT and Watkins DT back on 1 year deals and maybe even Hooker or Kazee on short term deals. Probably see Dallas to try and lock up Gregory and Kearse at least a week prior to start of free agency.

We probably will see things happening by March 5th on restructures and maybe a resigning or two. It will be then were we really start getting fans picking a side on who we shouldn't or should have restructured or resigned.
