No one is irreplaceable

the way to deal with him is to say

1. you’re a good player but you have been other places and not done well. It is the scheme as much as you

2. go test the market and we will match a reasonable deal if we can

don’t negotiate against yourself like Jerry always does
If we lose him, Donovan Wilson can be used the same way.Has to of course remain healthy, but could be very effective in a similar role.

“franchise QB” LOL

Luckily there are only a handful of people like you left on CZ anymore

:facepalm::facepalm:
You anti-Dakers have ruined this website. Why follow the team, especially since Jerry and the Cowboys have made it clear Dak is not going anywhere. Bunch of grown up crybabies.

Good let him walk and get paid. Nets us a comp pick for him.

...and while we continue to suffer from the safety position that we haven't secured since the Roy Williams Darren Woodson yester years .... :(

Imagine not having a franchise QB under contract? This team would have gone no where if it wasn't for Dak, warts and all.

Agreed on Dak being overpaid though. Jerry should have paid Dak $32 million per year 2 seasons ago.
Nobody will ever know, but we probably would have had to spend some resources to try and acquire one, more than a UDFA acquisition or a 4th round pick.
Dak conversations are so polarizing in that you are labeled as a Hater or Lover, when in fact there is a majority faction that understand and accept the value of Dak and the 4th round pick.
Where the controversy steps in is the 2nd contract value.
Label me a hater if average play demands a cap killer contract that cripples this teams ability to improve via FA, or retain other key players because of it.

I was hoping he'd take another short term maybe mid level deal but I don't know. He's been talking like this since the season ended.

Fortunately it's a really soft market for Safeties, so if the Cowboys prioritize him should be no problem.

We may not have a choice if Kearse departs per bidding war in FA, but Wilson is oft-injured, and is not always in a position that he needs to be,
and not as effective as Kearse was in man coverage.

Kearse even emerged as a leader in the secondary, enuff for coaches to entrust him to be defensive signal caller.
While there's been some questions about Donovan's committment and leadership qualities.

What's the franchise cost? Is he worth it? Can you really pay him based off one year, or do we let him walk?

He's the number 1 FA I was hoping to keep. Smh

The perception that he hadn't played well before coming here is false. Just saying. It's prevalent but incorrect.

Not saying he was a bad player, but there is a reason why he was never a full-time starter on bad teams and why he signed a 1-year deal for just over a million last year but is expecting a much larger contract this year.

Kearse had a very good season. I think if we can make it happen then we should pay him accordingly.

That was my 1st thought. At least get a good comp pick.
I will be fine with him staying, but if he leaves, it wasn't like he was a huge difference maker IMO.
Just depends on the $$$ of course.

Let his test the market. I doubt we get 3rd probably a 6th or 7th.

You need to try to start paying people for the average of their seasons. We pay people based on their best ever season with projected improvement. We always regret it.
