What do we know about Rich Dalrymple? Not much. We do not know his history and if there is anything else like what he is accused of at this time.
I looked him up and he's married with 4 children so I can only imagine the effect this is having on them. Can't get much worse than for something like this to have happened with the Cowboys. He is a native of Dallas so he knows a lot of people and right now, I would imagine some are wondering if they really know him.
Here's my take on this and I agree is it speculative. He's with the team and pretty close to the family for 32 years and their lack of response when he suddenly announces his retirement speaks for itself. Wilkinson, the crisis management person in charge of the internal investigation, tells the ESPN reporter that he looked at the video of the cheerleaders' dressing room and if that shows Dalrymple going in and immediately coming back out, that supports his story that it was a mistake and when he realized it, he removed himself. Do they take that video and show it to the cheerleaders' lawyers to refute their story or let the ESPN reporter see it to prove Dalrymple is telling the truth? No, they do not. Instead, they settle for 2.4M and Wilkinson said his investigation uncovered no wrong doing.
The one thing I cannot get past in this is the lack of response from the entire organization when the man most responsible for Booger getting into the HOF and part of the extended family. And not one person here that is leaning against his guilt can justify that.
He did something to be treated this way. Maybe he did both things and even more they know about. And maybe he's been in therapy for that?
A lot of the disbelief of the war room incident is based on how we think Booger should have reacted or Wilkinson's statement that he would have fired Dalrymple had that actually happened. Some have even mentioned Booger's penchant for family would have dictated that but let's explore the other side of that, the daughter's side.
It is known now that Dalrymple's job 1 was the HOF push for Booger and I do not think his daughter wanted anything more. But Dalrymple screws up and the very guy they have been depending on to get him to the HOF could unravel everything. This hits the media, do you think Booger is getting one vote for the HOF? They all want this story to go away, which is why the NFL is staying out of it, they want this to die quickly.
When Booger finds out what Dalrymple has done, he is furious like any father would be but the truly harmed party, the daughter, wants her father in the HOF and doesn't want to be in the news like this and who can blame her? So, she becomes the levelling agent to the entire ordeal and if she can look past it for the greater good, how can the rest of the family, including her father, not do the same?
Dalrymple is out, it's just a matter of time, as extended family and for all we know, Booger could have taken part of his wages for that 2.4M. But the agreement is made, if this story ever sees the light of day, he falls on his sword and is out and keeps his mouth shut. Which has happened so far.
Can you imagine the backlash towards Booger from fathers and towards Charlotte from women for letting him get by with this? Now, I do not think Booger let him get by with this for the HOF, he did that for his daughter.
