that is the last time LOL recent like in 2020 lmao..

all of sudden MM is the answer for team..lmao:lmao2:

right clueless fans
So Dalton and Orton in the last what? 25 years.

This team is more content with guys like Rush, Tanney, McGee etc rather than spending on backups.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it

I wouldn't sign an old vet. Go with youth. I'd find a QB in the draft that has the legs to run RPO or wildcat formations. Then when the team was struggling, bring in the rookie to shake up the defense like the Saints 2 QB system.

At this point Dak is only a pocket passer. A mobile QB would make the cowboys offense more dangerous and difficult to prepare for. I am not saying ditch Dak. Just make the team stronger by drafting another weapon.

if i respond to someone saying wehns the last time and the when is recent that what we have to go on..so go away troll..they when and opportunity comes up and they deem it necessary will spend on a backup,.,. There are very little good bups worth getting that give you half shot if you lose top 10 starter so get out of here with the nonsense somehow having a good backup is easy to find and any type of insurance. typically if you lose front line starter for the season or a lot of the season its over might as well lose out and get a high draft pick..

moving on to reality,.,MM is not savior,. He typically plays 10 snaps and get broken lol any real fan who pays attention would see hes ben nothing but a runner in situational football of late and always hurt.,.he worse then Wentz..both as a player and injury prone. Right hes the guy,.,.lmao:lmao2:

Marcus Mariota would be a day one starter for any team….in the USFL.
I thought the same but apparently the writer of the article thinks MM could give some competition for the starting quarterback position.

o_O Far from it. He was constantly flushed out of the pocket being the Oline couldn't protect him, thus Dak made early decisions to take off & run extended drives & threw the defense into a state of confusion.
There are lots of sports writers out there, lol!
Was in the mood to ruffle some feathers in here for a Monday.:muttley:

Flushed out of the pocket at times because of pass rush.Other times because he doesn’t scan the field quickly enough or was just scared to let it rip because receivers weren’t wiiiide open.Lacks confidence to try a lot of tight window throws.

Speaking of Dalton, he's a free agent......again (lol). Any chance of a return?
I’m not sure if this is an indicator but I’m thinking Dalton’s teammates (at the time) reaction to him getting that cheap shot signals he wasn’t all that well-liked in Dallas. If I’m bringing in a QB I want his teammates fighting tooth and nail for him, especially when he’s been done dirty.

what would the point be? is he definitively better than Dak? cause Dak is being paid regardless so unless he is a tier above dak and Mariota is not then adding him is a waste. he would also have to be free, cause again, were paying Dak with zero outs in his contract.

No to Marcus. He was Nashville's Dak for many years. Dalton was Cincinnati's Dak for many years.

Not sure about this........he's in line for starting offers from least a couple of QB-needed team's as a back-up plan if they don't get their guy from what I've read.

Ther last thing Booger wants is a QB controversy. Do you think he wants to do a 160M QB deal and take a chance that unravels and makes him look bad?

o_O "Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott has been entrenched as the starting signal-caller for quite some time. Perhaps it’s time that Jerry Jones and the team’s brass brought in a proven starter such as Marcus Mariota to get a quarterback battle, or controversy, going in Dallas.

Prescott is a lightning bolt for debate among NFL fans. Some feel he’s overrated and pads his numbers with meaningless fourth-quarter stats accumulated in “garbage” time. Others see him as a two-time Pro Bowler, which is something that doesn’t grow on trees.

On the other hand, it could be argued Prescott’s status has never been challenged. The only time he wasn’t the starter was due to injury. Mariota could certainly provide a spark in Dallas if Jones signs him with the opportunity to at least challenge Prescott. Would this create a media circus? Likely. However, as we all know, Jones is no stranger to controversy." https://insidethestar.com/
a proven starter? relatice to whom and what? what has Mariotta done to prove he is a worthy starter in the NFL. he failed in Tenn. he failed with Raiders. anything Dak has done to this point has been better than Mariotta. so what makes him a proven starter?

oh, sorry, I fell for the Tovar click bait article..

the idiot.

Jerry isn't looking for a QB competition. He has handed the club over to Dak for the foreseeable future.
there wouldn't be a competition. Dak would beat out Mariotta black and blue.....this was a stupid article and you hatred towards Dak is getting the better of your judgement.

that's pretty much the story for all 32 NFL teams, except from season to season some teams may sign a legit back up. for example, without googling tell me who was the back up QB for Rams and Cinci this year? be honest. don't google or just say I don't know

Because Dak's leadership skills have certainly done wonders for the team....
Yes.... at the least 2021 Cowboys Team did not let opposing team castrate QB1 on the field....hello Andy Dalton
