Dak’s contract isn’t the problem. It’s Zeke’s. The organization isn’t managed well.

The salary cap is not an issue this year and especially next year. Any idea how much money Dallas will have next year (2023) after restructures of Dak, Martin, Collins and release of Tank and Cooper - which I assume 1 or both will actually happen this year? That is also not taking into account a release of Zeke....

$81 million under the cap - obviously, there will be some added figures to that with new contracts this year and the draft - however, they are not in a terrible situation cap wise.

LOL. Sure they would? You realize to renegotiate Cooper has to agree to the team hes being traded to right? Its not like madden where you can force trade people. There are other factors. And hes also guaranteed 20 million this season. No team is trading for that without a deal in place prior.
And why wouldn't he agree to renegotiate? This is his last season of guaranteed money, he has every reason to renegotiate. NFL players want security, and there is a big difference between to 20 he gets this year, and the 40 to 45 he would get renegotiating. I dont think renegotiating with whatever team we trade him to would be any problem at all

Crazy. Dolphins need another receiver next to Waddle, and have like 77mil in cap space. Take a day 3 pick if we had to. Dolphins can then at least restructure to drop the cap hit if they wanted to for 2022

Because its Madden and hes tradeable. I think some people here dont realize that video games and real life are 2 different things. Its quite comical.
I dont see any Madden in it. I just dont think you understand contracts and how NFL players view them. Coopers contract isnt as unattractive as you think it is. There is very little guaranteed left, and he has every incentive to negotiate. Once this year is up, he is year to year. That is very unattractive to NFL players

Not real happy losing Cooper, obviously. Maybe Gallup will come in at a reasonable figure and this will make more sense.

I also lack confidence in the front office but I’m going to assume if Dallas could get assets back in a trade for a guy they are about to cut they’d do it.

160 million to our QB so we end up being a running team.......:muttley:.......only in Jerry's world!

It was a moronic decision by them.

If catch17, a guy on a forum, can see how bad it is then why can’t a professional sports franchise.

They are overpaying and competing with themselves when it comes to their own talent. It’s so dumb.

Dang, maybe coop should have snuck in the cheerleader locker room for a few picks instead of skipping Vax day...

Jerry and Stephen pretty much stink at trades and understanding the value of their players.

Yep, also seems the FO has more leaks than the Titanic.

Either that or they're so afraid of talking to plyers man-to-man they intentionally leak their intentions.

Lol, if the Jones boys could just keep their big mouths shut they may have been able to work out a trade. Looks like another waste of a first-round pick to me, although to be honest Coop has been basically as reliable as he was with the Raiders and I don't mean that in a positive way.

----Releasing Amari Cooper would create $16M in cap space for Dallas.

$16M that won't get spent. Chuckles thinks you win a mini Lombardi for being under the cap....Chuckles is such a Potsy!!!

22 million dollar cap charge for a guy who had 60 catches and wasn't playing top at his position.

The YAC wasn't there this year. The crisp routes weren't there. The bad influence was there.

With our cap situation, the decline in his play, and the owner's obvious dissatisfaction with his decision making, it was obvious.
Finally somebody gets it. It amazes me that fans are in an uproar over a dude that ain’t done nothing. 20 million dollars a year for that ? Unbelievable,

Front office clown show. Trade a 1st for a WR while not negotiating a contract extension then cut the player. You ended up giving up a 1st round pick for a couple year rental.

Release your number one and don't trade him for any picks. Go after a guy instead who's missed more games and intentionally waited till the second week of February to have surgery on an injury that happened in late December.......

Man you really can't make these things up

Cooper isn't a $20 million AND should be released. Unfortunately, this type of move isn't going to affect TEN TOE MEDIOCRE SLOTH formally known as Dak Prescot because he rarely looked to complete a pass in Cooper's directions which caused Cooper to speak-out to the press about his receiving numbers this past season. Hell, Davante Adams could be brought in and he too would feel under used because of the SLOTH's inabilities to locate receivers with a star on their helmet..........................

So Jim Bob and Billy Bob have decided to go all in Gallup. Who apparently happens to be brittle? Jones family has to go.

This is stupid. I get the cap savings and I don’t know what if any follow up moves they’ll have but there’s no argument that losing cooper makes the team better after it’s done. Maybe after an offseason but we will see.
