I remember when i posted after the season that Cooper and Dlaw would be cut/traded and all of the people who said it would never happen.

Anyone still think that?
Literally no one stated that.

We ALL knew that was going to be Dlaw's response. He's another Jaylon Smith overpaid Hot Boyz primadonna. Release him Jerry. Annoying player!
If the choice is Cooper or Lawrence I take Cooper. Lamb hasn't proven he can take Coopers spot. Parsons already has taken Lawrence's spot as leader of the defense
Doesn't matter what you take. Coops gone & Lamb's Dallas's #1.

One step forward, three steps back.

This front office cannot build a franchise, there's no direction, no plan, no identity.

If I'm Micah no way in hell do I sign another contract for this team.
I hear your pain but there is no way Micah passes on the money and fame of being the face of Cowboys defense. The media was comparing him to LT for crying out loud. That would not have happened if we was drafted by the Falcons or Panthers.

Money talks, and Dallas will give Micah a lot of it long before his rookie deal is up. How could you possible turn that down?

So no Gregory and now maybe even dlaw? Who's the 2 starting de's?

We were never going to go with DLaw and Gregory, Quinn wants Micah diversifying and playing a fair few snaps on the edge. We'll get Gregory on a 2/3 year deal and play Golston on rushing downs.

And that's gonna bite Dallas on the butt offensively unless Lamb takes a huge leap forward going into year 3. Is it possible? Sure, and I really hope he does. He has the talent. He just needs the focus and to not drop balls. But he didn't perform like an adequate number one when Cooper was out.

Don't you remember how well we did after releasing Dez and before getting Cooper? Rinse and repeat. Until Lamb can prove he's a legit #1, that's what we're gonna see. Then later than they should the Cowboys might pay too much and wait too long to fix mistakes.

Jerry should hang on to him until final cuts, while not letting him come to the facility to avoid injury risk.

No more guaranteed money. Time isn't on Lawrence's side this year. Time is on Jerry's side. Time for some hardball as payback.
He will get more than 9 million regardless of when he's cut so he knows he's in the drivers seat and laughing all the way to the bank.

The pay cut offered was probably never a serious offer. They likely cut to well below what he can get on the market (which is likely nowhere near $20M/year base salary) knowing he would refuse.

Another golden contract by the Jones'.
I sense the offer was more a token gesture -- much like the one made to Jaylon Smith. Precursor to outright release.

Cutting DLaw to resign Randy “I’m always hurt” Gregory to a multi year deal is insane. I’m convinced if they cut DLaw they won’t even win the division next year. You’d be forced to take a DE at 24 (who isn’t an impact star day 1) and then you miss the chance to upgrade your OL.

Might as well cut Zeke also this year and just to a full rebuild. Doing half cuts only keeps the problem lingering longer. If you’re gonna cut the stars to save money go all the way and tell McCarthy he’s out also after this year and you’re clearing the decks for Payton in 2023
So your saying we’re doomed?

Looking at the structure on DL, everyone on his side had to have known this was really a 3/65 deal fully guaranteed.

He couldn't have possibly thought the team would keep him at two inflated base salaries that made it look like a 100m deal.

So the agent talks him out of a renegotiation at a real number and will pocket another commission.

He is NOT getting 17-19 million per plus a bonus elsewhere, and now needs to uproot the family.

Maybe he just wants out. He talked about wanting to win and it's not gonna happen here, whether he was part of the problem or not.

Didn't DLaw previously willingly re-structured his contract before in 2020..??

But Now Cowboys are requesting (demanding) him do take a pay cut ?
