When did Cowboys fans get so gutless

Of course, but why cheer for lesser competition? Our preference should be facing and beating the best competition. That was my argument.

My preference is to see the Cowboys win another trophy before I die. It doesn't matter about the competition. All anyone remembers is who won the trophies.

The competition changes every year many teams that are perceived to be greater competition turn out to be a bust and other teams that are thought to be a pushover turn out to have great seasons.

Nobody can really speculate accurately on what the competition is going to be until the season gets rolling and we see what teams are all about.

And by seasons end including the postseason, you do know who the strongest teams are. Russell Wilson is a vastly superior QB than Drew Lock which decreases the Seahawks chances at the postseason next season on paper. I’m not Nostradamus, but me and pretty much every other sane individual would predict a far better season for Russell next year than Lock barring injury. My preference is that the Cowboys face the best competition and still win. I don’t think facing a Seahawks team with Drew Lock at QB is as good as a Seahawks team with Wilson.

Denver HAS to do something like this when they think they are ready....the division they are in with LAC, KC and LV demands they go all in to have a chance, and take calculated risks sometimes. Dallas is in a weak division and therefore they are the gutless ones.

Me too, but I want the next SB won based on team merit-not because the other teams sucked more than the Cowboys. If the Cowboys were awarded the trophy because the other SB team’s charter plane blew up and they could not field a team, then I would rather the Cowboys got blown out by a legit contender.

Why would anyone be scared of Wilson, he through a TD on the one on 3rd down with Beast mode for a easy Super Bowl win. Romo style.

I think that play came from the idiots on the sideline . Plus Wilson and the Seahawks won it the yr before. Pete Carroll should have nixed that call before it ever made it into the huddle.

Having said that Carroll the ownership realize the Seahawks are not contenders with Wilson may as cash in rebuild . It worked in Denver with the Peyton Manning move late in his career to win a SB but this time they gave up a lot of bling . I didn’t think the Rams could do it maybe I’m wrong .

This Russell Wilson news is being met with too many people excited to see a great QB leave the Cowboy’s conference. Who cares about advancing further in the playoffs when there are much fewer actual contenders? We should want the best and greatest competition in our division and conference-AND STILL beat the other teams.

What is also interesting is how many people think that somehow the Broncos have already lost the trade with the multiple first and second round picks given up along with Noah Fant. Russell may be older and a bit slower than he used to be, but he is still an extremely dangerous pocket passer with enough ability to buy time when looking downfield. He has excellent touch and exceptional decision making.

What is also interesting is how much team’s with excellent front office personnel are willing to give up to greatly upgrade the QB position. If you think Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, and John Elway are pretty good QB evaluators-then you should completely understand this trade from the Bronco’s perspective. They feel strongly that Russell Wilson is way better than anything in the draft this year and improves their chances at winning something meaningful in the next several years.

This is just another all in move that MAY backfire. But the Broncos are shooting their shot like LA did last season. Winners gamble with the cards dealt or exchange them but can honestly assess their own cards and somebody else’s.

If we played the bottom 8 teams in the NFL 2X each And won I’d be happy. If every team in the NFL had a 2nd or 3rd string QB playing, and we won, I’d be happy. The bottom line is getting to the championship games. 27 years of LOSING will make you hungry for a win, beggars can’t be choosers.

Probably not but there's nothing we can do about it we didn't work the trade.

Can you say......HOMERS GALORE....you got folks here who still consider Dak an elite QB.
Enough said and ya there is NO hope at least for the next 5 years!

I wonder who the last team to win a Super Bowl and find it unfulfilling was. I wonder which fan base out there watched their team win the Super Bowl and just weren't excited, because their strength of schedule was in the 20s and the number one seed in the conference got upset before the championship game. I wonder which SB MVP said they weren't going to Disney World, because the teams they faced in the playoffs just weren't the best of the best.

My guess is the answers would all be none.

Hopefully, I won’t have to repeat myself again in the same thread. My rant came from people literally happy and excited that the Cowboy’s chances to advancing in the playoffs just got better. It does not matter that we get no choice in the matter. Winning games in a watered down conference does not matter as long as you beat the real contenders and best teams at the end. But if you get to the NFCCG because of the dearth of actual contenders in your conference, and then get drilled by one of the few teams with an actual QB it should take away some shine from making it to the game. For the final time, my PREFERENCE is facing and winning vs the best teams (as much as possible)-I understand we cannot control it.

I enjoyed last seasons success, but it does not move the needle much when you can tell most of the teams you beat were not very good that game or for the entire season (when you also couple it with how the team looked when they faced better QB’s and teams).

Hey, Homers! You know who you are... This team couldn't compete against good teams last season and they certainly won't be able to compete against good teams next season. This team is over hyped average
and has been that way for years. Poor FO, average coaching and average overpaid players says it all.

I think the Broncos, somewhat like the 2020 Bucs, are a QB away from making some noise. I think they will have a good year with a rejuvenated Wilson.

What QB should the Cowboys go after and how do they fit that under the cap with Dak?
These type of reality questions are not fair
