Treylon Burks

Dallas would likely have interest in two of those guys - Linderbaum and Johnson. They'd be foolish not to. Really foolish to take Burks over those two as well.
Broaddus thinks the Cowboys will draft a guard at 24. After the combine performances of the guards, I hope he is wrong.

Hard pass at 24…

Almost all of his production was quick passes behind the LOs and go routes. Has miles to go as a route runner and his calling card was supposed to be his athleticism but post combine that’s looking average.
Combine's can me misleading if a player is off that day.

I am a Hog and watched almost every game he played and every SEC DC and D knew he was the receiving corps. The Hogs have a large running QB and good RB's and one WR. They were so dependent on him, they had to play him when they would have preferred not to and he'd show up. Sam Pittman had no problem with Burks opting out of the bowl game because he'd been their warrior. If not for that one player, they do not have the 9 win season they have.

He is not a finesse WR, he is a physical WR that is very hard to bring down once he gets the ball and those hands are ridiculous, 10.5' 5XL gloves and he's a really good blocker. Better than the TE they tagged.

I see folks keep making a big deal about his hand size. Not sure how glove sizing works but Skyy Moore has larger hands than Burks.

All fair points, but it doesn't change anything I'm seeing on tape...he get's a ton of manufactured touches behind the LOS and a bunch of go routes. He's going to have a long, long way to go as a route runner in comparison to someone like Olave.

Burks is an intriguing player. I’m not worried at all about the speed, but the concerns about his route running are legitimate. Once the ball is in his hands he’s dynamic. For me I see him as a 2nd round prospect. But most of the experts have him clearly in the 1st round. They do get it wrong from time to time. Heck last year everybody thought Zaven Collins was a 1st round pick. After watching some of his games, that kid looked totally lost.

They wouldn't demand improved route running from him anymore than they did Bryant. He's not that kind of WR and neither is Samuel.

They're letting one of the best route runners in the game walk, think that's a priority to them? Do they have a QB that is a risk taker or would he prefer a big target in the intermediary area?

Burks is a target for their QB and is a handful around and over the line. The other issue is that they are more than familiar with him since they went to see him play a lot. He was an excellent possession WR and stick mover for the Hogs. And he played against SEC secondaries.

I am not advocating taking him with that 1st pick but with Cooper leaving, I can see them doing it so I wouldn't mind a Hog on my pro team.

But he's 5'10" and Burks is 6'3". Which do you want for a 6'2" QB?

We’re talking about hand size.

I was just pointing out all the chatter about his “enormous” size 5xl hands is a bit overblown.

9.75” hands are nice, but not freaky large.

11 of the receivers at the 2020 Combine had hands 9.75” or larger.

But he’s not as good as Bryant was a prospect…not even close IMO. Bryant was a legit top 10 talent that fell due to off the field non sense. He was more explosive, had ++ ball skills, catch radius and body control. I like Burks and he gives you a lot of that just not at the same level.

Deebo was drafted in the 2nd for some of the same risks and the 49ers hit. I’m fine with Burks in the 2nd but not at 24.

Brugler at The Athletic mocked Burks to us yesterday with our 2nd pick being Wyoming LB Chad Muma. Burks says he wants to model his game like Debo. I’m in
