Everyone in the NFL knew Cooper was getting released this year the moment he signed his contract in Dallas. Teams were just waiting him out.Agreed, I’m not quite getting the outrage, the key to this was unloading the contract. When it becomes public a player is gonna be cut you’re not gonna get a lot if anything in return. And Cooper although a good WR is not worth the contract.
Gallup will be lucky to get 10 million annually with his bum knee. I think the delay is the Cowboys writing a whole bunch of performance and health based incentives into his deal.
Pretty sure Gallup deal now gets done.........
And everybody here was saying a 2nd or 3rd.A fifth-round pick?
What a disaster of a front office.
I mean we got what? 4 years out of Amari? HE was worth the 1st for those years. Not to mention that draft kind of stunk for where we drafting. So who knows.
You could move #s around to open money you didn't have cut no one. Once WRs start falling from the sky due to injury you can trade him away then when value is up. If this was the other way around we would have given a 2nd no doubt. How much compensation did you think we'd get for a player we are about to cut?
Sucks. Better GM would've been able to get a 3
Wasn’t that just a rumor from some guy on TwitterWord is, Cooper vocally went at Dak pretty hard in front of the team at the end of the season.
Keeps him out of the NFC East.
I think this means the team believes CeeDee is the best receiver on the team.
What?? You are talking about losing 865 yds. and 8 TD's and didn't throw to him on 3rd downs! Hardly going to miss him and his ridiculous salary.if you thought Dak sucked before.....its going to be ugly this year.
Lamb is under his rookie deal.....he won't be "sacrificed" lol.Hmmmm....
Which of the remaining WRs will be next season's sacrifice?
Gallup, because he has a new contract?
or
Lamb, because of the high draft pick used on him and/or he will be due for a payday in the near future. (bonus reason... "sacrificial Lamb" has a nice ring to it)
My early prediction is Lamb.
I thought it was stupid at the time. The Amari trade was horrible in hindsight.
We won nothing. It saved Dak's career and got him one of the biggest contracts in NFL history. Then we end the Cooper era with a 5th round pick.
Give me a break on all the ranting on the GMs. I’m no Jones Clan fan, but IF there was a higher pick available, they would have gone for it. People act like they purposefully want to be fleeced. LOL. Like Aikman always says — Being a starter on this team leads to being overrated. If Coop was worth it to a team, they would have ponied up. What worries me is what this says about our #2 and #3, one of which we’re about to land with a large contract.
