Like Gallop, seems to be the kind of player that just does his job well and gets on with it. Without the full details it seems like a fair deal. The Elephant in the room is the injury. Still what alternative did the FO have?

Anyone know what kind of comp pick we would get if he signed that deal with another team? I’ve never understood really how comp picks are determined.
My guess would be a 4th round comp with is basically an early 5th round pick. Would rather have Gallup.

This is actually a below market level contract with not much guaranteed. It’s a good deal for both sides. Now all we need is a #3 wr

Cooper's significantly more accomplished than Gallup.

I agree. But if the production on the field is essentially the same why not keep the cheaper guy? Cooper had 868 yards and 8 TD's last year and Gallup had 843 yards and 5 TD's in his last full season in 2020. Cooper wasn't a $20 million receiver so now we have to see if Gallup can be a $12 million one.

The Jones drafted Gallup. And he’s been a company guy. Production doesn’t matter. Coop didn’t tie the line so we went with Gallup. Because it makes Jerruh feel good not to win

Gallup was an 1100 yard guy in 2019. In 2020 he slipped due to Lamb's arrival and last year he only played nine games. With Cooper gone Gallup is going to be the number two receiver again and his production should be back to where it was a couple years ago.

he had his best season 3 years ago and has suffered a season ending injury on the heels of missing two months with a soft tissue injury. i really like the guy but just projecting him back to peak (once) form isn’t really responsible

Lol.. again wait and see how the contract breaks down. He will probably only count 7 million toward the cap this year

Now you get Wilson back and we are good to go. All you bashes can suck it. They played this well. Cooper gone with no dead money, keep Gallup Schultz and hourly Wilson is next.

I don't think we get Wilson back. Usually when hints are dropped that a player is out of our price range that's the Joneses saying they aren't going to re-sign him.
