Watkins: Collins release probable

It’s also hilarious that they can’t get sufficient draft comp for these guys.

Jerry and Stephen suck at trades. They just do.
They suck at pretty much everything these days.....

Lol, what a disgustingly run franchise this is.
10m a year is a STEAL in today's market but because we cannot keep our fat freaking mouths shut for one damn minute letting all and sundry know our plans we can't get any return.
Sell up Jerry you senile old fart.

This is deeper than wanting to move on from Collins.

It looks like the trust is gone and they want to move on.

This is what you would use to sign your draft class.

They can do that without cutting Collins.

This is just poor roster management from a front office that has pretty much shown over and over that they aren't all that great at managing personnel and building a competent roster.

Cowboys have their best team in a decade and the NFC has no powerhouses at the top…

…and we are losing talent instead of adding talent.

Which they can’t use until June 1.
Yep, but dead money spreads into next year.

Same deal with Lawrence. Depends how they choose to spread it out, but.....that definitely seems to be the strategy.....spread it out, as opposed to taking your lumps at once and creating a better position for 23.

Proof that being competitive is goal #1.

You can't get value for trades when the only guys you ever try and trade are massively overpriced and declining in production.

They guy was massively overated

When you can't get anything for a "great" rt...on a solid contract for a "great" RT ...this should tell you everything

Could tell you that Jerry and Stephen simply aren't all that great at trades.

In fact, the evidence over the years suggests that is more the case than Collins just being a bad RT that no one wants.

A RT that cannot bend, a lazy inconsistent overpaid WR and a solid #3 are not going to be the reason this team doesn't succeed.

That may be the case but the premise holds true, keep quiet and do what's best for the team

Exactly. What's the benefit of doing it now?

So every team in the league can know we're gonna a draft OL? Why not hang on till after the draft? At least give the impression he'll play G or something

The coaching staff wanted Steele to start the Jones’s kept pushing Collins. He’s been steam rolling downhill since his surgery. Good riddance give me the guy who’s 100% committed to football.

Nowhere in my statement was anything saying that the front office was competent. All I was pointing out was that the present cap space wouldn't need to be held in reserve for the draft class being that the money needed for it would be available in June.
