Yeah, this is what we'll probably get. *heavy sigh*Just waiting for the news to break.
DALLAS SIGNS DORANCE ARMSTRONG TO RECORD DEAL.

I say wait and see.I am not sure you are getting the concept of the philosophy the Joneses have been using. Gregory was our FA. The Joneses sign our FAs, sometimes to outrageous contracts. If a player is not one of our FAs, the Joneses have not been willing to sign them to big deals since 2012. This is a simple truth. It doesn't take much effort to see that the last outside FA in the same monetary zip code of what we offer our FAs was Brandon Carr. The Joneses did not get a good return on that investment so they decided to not sign outside FAs to big contracts no matter what they offer someone on our roster who may be equal or lesser in ability.
The only exception you can find to this since 2012 is Greg Hardy, and the Cowboys got him at a price that would have been far below his market value because of his DV issues. If Dallas were to sign Miller, he would be the first outside FA to receive the same kind of money we pay our FAs in 10 years, and Stephen Jones has already said this offseason that the Cowboys would not be changing their FA philosophy. Maybe they'll change that since they lost Gregory, but there is no reason to expect that. They've lost starters before since putting the philosophy in place and replaced them on the cheap.
I say wait and see.
I guess that would be possible, but the defense would be lucky to have one player with double digit sacks. If Parsons plays a more traditional role at LB, it would eliminate his chances of reaching double digit sacks. He is the only player on the defense that opposing teams have to scheme around. DLaw is paid like a double digit pass rusher, but his level of pay is not even close to his production. You'd have 3 guys who could get double digit sacks.
These guys have better things to do than worry about free agency.
Have to use those 5th round picks
I wish I shared in your optimism. I feel like it's going to be just another one of those years where "so n so" FA is interested in playing here...fans get their hopes up....but said FA signs somewhere else. But, I guess hope springs eternal!!i will bet a lot that cowboys get von miller
jerry know that cowboys fans are MAD right now and they have so much bad press (gregory & dlaw) they will get von miller just to calm every one down
it is going to happen
Cowboys!
Why don't we start seeing all this strong interest turn into signings
I say wait and see.
again they spent 14+ mil on RG then had that put back in the coffers , umm kk so technically they still have it earmarked to spend and studently need a starting DE..Here's what Stephen Jones had to say about free agent spending this offseason:
"In general, from a money standpoint, if I'm looking into a crystal ball right now, I see most of our money that would go in free agency going toward our current players. Doesn't mean that won't change. We might come across a value on a player that we say, 'Hey, it's just one we got to take.' I don't want to rule it out.
"But, in general, we go to our players and then we have to be efficient in the draft in terms of improving the team."
So it will be a surprise if this comes to fruition because I don't think Miller is going to come at a cut rate. The Joneses will essentially have to cast aside the FA philosophy they have been following for 10 years. I want it to happen, but I just can't expect it based on what they've done since 2012 and what they've said.

True but it remains to be seen if that is able to be given to a non family member.again they spent 14+ mil on RG then had that put back in the coffers , umm kk so technically they still have it earmarked to spend and studently need a starting DE..
