That sucks. What's worse is all the click bait getting us excited.
That is on you , dont read it or get excited about any of that, why it is called click bait.
Rumors are just that rumors.
Cowboys interested = means 1% chance it might happen usual stephen lowball offer
Cowboys STRONGLY interested = means 1.5% chance stephen lowball offer which is 10% higher than usual.

I wait till I see a thread here stating officially player has signed with cowboys. Then I can get excited or say "Meh" about it.

Jones boys defy logic and common thinking in the way they handle FA. So no point trying to understand it or predict it, or expect anything from it.

So far I think I like the J, Wash signing, and the dante fowler one. Not excited, but they might surprise me/us.
I liked the wash kid in the vid someone posted here, wish all nfl players were more like him.
I am sure SJ lowballed him real good lol, and he took it, because he wants to play for cowboys, and he wants to be noticed and make a name for himself.

That is one thing a player can do here if they preform well here they will get noticed and can later get better lowball deal here, or get a decent contract elsewhere.

I never expected L.Smith, or wagner to sign here, SJ is just to big a cheapo, will offer incentives, that you will only get if you have a great healthy season.
Also I dont know if those 2 are still capable of playing like they have in the past.
Sometimes when you buy a player like them all you get is a average guy with the big name, so not worth paying them big money.
However they might make a few plays here and there at key moments, and make a difference so would be worth it.
We will never know lol, wait and see what smith does at minn I guess.

All the seattle legion of boom guys are done except wagner? Been awhile since they were playing great.

The reality is Wagner likely either wants to get paid or win a Superbowl next season...the Jones family do not go after the big ticket free agency players and we have Dak Prescott at QB...so why did anyone ever believe Wagner would sign for the Cowboys...
Same reasons Zadarius Smith just signed with the Vikings.......players want $$$$$.

We’ve moved even further away.
I never would have thought that going into this year. Why I always have hope when FA starts is beyond me??!! Were close to being true contenders and your right, Jerry and Stephen somehow put us further away?? That seemed impossible??????????????/

I fully expected we would move further away with all the free agents we had. Even Jerry and Stephen were hinting that we need to take advantage of the talented roster we had because we weren’t going to be able to keep everyone. Stephen stated before free agency started weren’t going to spend big money on a splash signing. This is the same strategy we’ve had for a number of years in free agency. It’s been 10 years since we signed a high-priced free agent and that was Brandon Carr. He was a solid player but never worth the big contract he got.

Wagner Wants Wages.

Cowboys Consistently Cheap.
For years we criticized Jerry for signing high dollar free agents that never lived up to their contracts. It was easy to see how different things were when Stephen took over. When Stephen took over, he refused to sign any free agents other than the veterans that were washed up and cheap or free agents that struggled and was lucky to make a roster. They went from one extreme to another. Why can’t they find a happy medium? Why can’t they understand that there are some mid-tier free agents that would really help the team? They will never be Super Bowl contenders if they don’t stop being cheap and stop depending on the players that they draft. They have the worst approach to free agency in the entire league and it looks like Stephen is only getting cheaper.

This has the same feel as jayron kearse to me. Were far apart and he was all but leaving and resigned recently. I saw by some writer its more about years than money. He wants to be somewhere for a while not one year and become a journeyman. I thought it was telling dan Quinn and BW were talking often but nothing Is happening.

He will take less (not Cowboys standards) to sign somewhere than initially thought. Chargers and Rams are spending their cap, same with Raiders. He still likely commands over 8-10 million by some desperate team.

Have you heard of pie? Now let me tell you, there are only so many pieces of pie to go around. Now when other players start to get their pie, the other players get less and less pie. So basically, Bobby, we have no pie left. We must save these crumbs for Carlos Watkins, Brent Urban and Ty Nsheke. ~ Stephen Jones aka the Cap Maestro

Judging by Stephen Jones' physique, he knows a lot about pie. Specifically, chocolate creme.

yeah but he is a shadow of what he once was.
These older or injured players are maybes.
Better to get someone good in draft or in trade who is also still in their prime.
Older guys are good if in a limited role and your team is ready for a SB run.
Dallas isnt ready for a SB run.

We have a multitude of 5th picks in the draft which will put paid to all this Debbie Downer nonsense from these " so called" fans. At least a future ROH Line Backer and a replacement for Fredbeard will be drafted from these diamonds and all your fears over the team will miraculously disappear.
Really, the idea that you need to use FA along with the draft to build a SuperBowl team is just pish and nonsense.
Don't forget to stop off at the Cowboys shop on your way home y'all.

I agree and I don't agree. I agree with you that these old veterans...its not how you build a team.

BUT......I do think they are ready for a run with the right moves. They just aren't making the right moves sadly.
