Cooper is younger than Tyreek and Davante.

Cooper’s contract is smaller than Tyreek and Davante.

Tyreek and Davante are better but Amari is still considered a top 12 WR in the league.

Neither the Chiefs nor Packers said they’d cut their WRs if they didn’t trade them. Cowboys platooned Amari’s trade value. When a player is a cut candidate, nobody is paying much for him.

Getting a 5th while the Packers and Chiefs got multiple premium picks is just bad management.

Heck, even draft bust/overpaid Carson Wentz and 37 year old Matt Ryan got premium picks.

Cooper is the only big name player traded this offseason that didn’t get a premium pick back.

The difference is both are arguably the top two WR’s in football. Coops hold up was his money too

his money? lol his contract was already reasonable w/ just the kirk and mike williams deals. with what tyreek and tae just signed for amari is practically signed for a song at this point, and all his guaranteed money has already been paid l

Also, remember the Cowboys were facing a March 20 drop-dead deadline of eating Coop 2022 salary ($20m). So there was a bit more sense of urgency and Broaddus mentioned some teams were concerned about his health and commitment.

Cooper had a pretty piss poor season. Had he put up double digit TD's and had about 1200 receiving yards we would have had a much better haul regardless of contract.
Football 101. You'd think posters on here have been around long enough to know this.

Tyreek Hill netted a 2022 1st, a 2022 2nd a 2022 4th-round pick, and additional picks in 2023

Davonte Adams netted a 2022 first and a 2022 2nd

Amari Cooper netted a 2022 5th and 2023 6th, plus Dallas traded back a 2022 6th.

Not saying Cooper is at Adam's and Hill's level, but......man.
Look at what the Rams got for Robert Woods, Cooper is on that level. Hill/Adams are probably the top 2 best receivers in the league, Cooper isn't even in the top 10.

The Cowboys were wise to lock up Michael Gallup on possible long term deal that is team friendly and they have Lamb under contract. They signed Washington to a cheap 1 year deal which is ok. That gives them a vet on the cheap and they now can draft a good one and have him on the rookie deal. Overall the Cowboys are going to be in good shape as teams over spend on receivers. Now they receiver market has gone throw the roof. The Packers and Chiefs are forced to take a first round receiver or even 2. The Cowboys are likely to go left guard and receiver on their first 2 picks which would give them 2 starters on rookie deals.

Cooper had a bad season and now has had effort questions on two teams with an overpaid contract that screamed "we need to trade or cut this player". All Pro players with a big contract get 1st round picks when traded, good players with huge contracts you are lucky to get a return.
In most scenarios, when a players is traded for the second time his value diminishes. That's life in the NFL.

Remember, Cooper had already established his value when the Raiders traded him to the desperate Cowboys for a first-round draft pick.
Hill and Adams were traded for the first time and netted their respective values.
So, it's a bit unfair to compare a second-traded Cooper to first-traded Hill and Adams.
Besides, Hill and Adams are head-and-shoulders above Cooper at this point in their careers.
Personally, I don't get investing that much trade value in wide receivers, especially when each year the draft seems to be loaded with receivers who can step in Day-1 and make a difference - see Cee Dee Lamb, DeVonta Smith, Justin Jefferson, Ja'marr Chase, Rondale Moore, Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr., etc.

Brandin Cooks got traded twice for a 1st round pick.

that's what happens when you call your QB, "the black kirk cousins". which he should have taken as a compliment since he's not as good as cousins.

i guess if he wouldn't have said this the baby dak might have looked his way. if he wasn't run around in total fear.

Here’s a list heading into 2021 that had Cooper at #14. Begin two guys that didn’t play (Ridley and Michael Thomas) and one who’s play fell off the cliff (Julio Jones).

Coincidentally, two of the top guys listed were just traded. And BOTH had to reset the market at the position. Point is that Cooper should have brought more value than what our bad GM ended up getting.

Right there with you, no doubt Amari isn't as dominant as the other guys, but considering the size of Hill and Adams contracts they received the opinion that no-one wanted to trade for a 20 million a year receiver is totally false. I think Amari just has a rep. for being game lazy at times and is inconsistent. However, based on his age and production the Cowboys should have gotten more for him.

Maybe teams don't want to trade much with the Cowboys, maybe our owners are inept, or maybe we as fans just overvalue some of our players. Regardless you look at those recent trades and think how did the Cowboys not get atleast a 3rd for Cooper?
